*Alexia*

'I can't believe you! How dare you reject our mate! Did you ever think that maybe I wan't a shot at forever!?'

'Look, I did't reject our mate, did you not hear anything I just said!? I need to focus on other things right now. My father just died, the man who trained us to be a warrior. You said it yourself, we need to train.'

'He can help!'

I growled at her. 'No! He is a weakness, if something happens and he dies I will have nothing to live for.'

'A mate is not a weakness, a mate gives you strength.'

*One hour earlier

"A--are you rejecting me?" Pain filled Jace's face.

"N--no! I-I need time, my father just died. Hell I was in a coma, I have to do things. Things that I can't do if I have a mate."

"Whatever you need to do that you think you can't do with a mate, you shouldn't be doing. And if you think that these 'things' would put me in danger, or would get me killed you are sadly mistaken. The one thing I care about is you. You will always come first in my life from now on, I will do anything. And if something happens to you because you don't think you need help. God. I can't even think about what could happen to you without being sick to my stomach."

We were both crying now, and I looked up at my mate.

"Jace collins, you have no idea how much I want to be with you, but there are so many things that you don't know about me. My whole life I have been taught to stay hidden, and I can't just open myself up."

I felt the strong presence of my wolf and I looked down at my arm.

'Can we leave now?'

'Yeah, we can leave.'

I ripped out the IV in my arm and grabbed the clothes off the night stand.

"Alexia!"

My wolf purred as he called out my name, I looked up at him as he was standing, staring at me with concerned eyes.

"What the hell are you doing!? You've been in a coma, your body hasn't moved in 2 months. You have to take it easy."

His eyes softened and I smiled at his concern. I stood up and walked over to him without even blinking. I put my hand on his face, and stared into his eyes, mesmerized by the connection between us.

I blinked and removed my hand,

"U--um can you ahh turn around?"

He smiled as I blushed and turned around. I quickly changed and stood behind him, wrapping my hands around his waist. He stiffened at our close contact, I noticed a change in his scent and I knew that his wolf had come near the surface. I went on my tiptoes and rested my head on his shoulder, his ear an inch from my mouth.

I closed my eyes as I whispered in his ear.

"I want you more than you know, and after I do what I have to, I am all yours."

I stepped back and he turned around, lust and want still lingered in his eyes. He watched me as I walked over to the open window. I put my foot up on the ledge and smiled at my mate,

"After all, forever deserves a chance to live."

With a wink I jumped out the window, falling three stories towards the grass.

I smiled as my feet hit the ground without a sound and I took off towards the tree line.

The trees become a blur beside me as I run at inhuman speed, I jump over a fallen tree, shifting in mid-air.

'You are strong, but not strong enough. We need a new place to train.'

I didn't answer back as I knew the perfect place.

A few hours later I came to a stop at pair of old cellar doors that sat outside of whats left of an old barn foundation.

I took the chains that locked the doors in my mouth and they broke with a simple tug.

I shifted back, and pulled clothes off my ankle that I had tied on outside the hospital. As I walked down the stairs I could still smell the familiar scent of my dad. This was where I had first shifted, the place where he had trained me to become a warrior.

I flicked on the light switch and smiled when the lights ran all the way down the giant room. So dad had kept the power running all these years.

I walked over to the far wall and turned on the computer systems, everything was a little outdated but it would work for now. Satisfied I walked over to far right wall and punched in the passcode my father had me memorize 13 years ago.

The wall opened to reveal a mass of knives, guns, grenades, and other miscellaneous weapons. I pressed the small red button on the key pad and the wall flipped over to reveal silver chains, knives, and ammunition.

Silver, the one thing every wolf fears. Except me.

I will get revenge for my fathers death.
