It had been some hours after Adora and Glimmer left the diner. They ran into Bow who was walking alongside Perfuma on the way home. The pinkette and archer were the best of friends, hell, have been the best of friends practically since they were in diapers but Glimmer always acted odd around him.
"Hey Adora, hey Glimmer. Funny seeing you up so early this morning." He said with excitement.
"Nothing's funny. Come on Adora let's head home." Glimmer dragged her friend along.
Adora thought it was so unusual, so unlike her friend she swore this was a completely different person pulling her to her mom's house.
"Oh, okay! Bye!" Bow hollered after her, though his short friend didn't acknowledge it.
As soon as they arrived, Glimmer started to get angry. Adora looked to see a note that read:
Glimmer, I'll be coming home late from work. Don't stay up too late.
~Mom"Stupid Perfuma.." Glimmer mumbled bitterly. The blonde looked up from the note and at her friend. "Why is Perfuma stupid?"
"Don't you get it!? He likes her and not me! Connect the dots!" The pinkette belted sadly, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Adora could admit on a stack of bibles she may not be the smartest, most observant girl to walk the planet, but Bow and Perfuma? Being romantic? That was almost harder to believe than Sea Hawk's chances with Mermista.
The blonde walked over to her friend and gently put her hands on both of her shoulders. "Hey hey, breathe. Come on, calm down." She soothed.
Her emotionally broken friend sniffled, wiping her tears with the sleeve of her jacket. "Perfuma likes Bow but so do I Adora..." she admitted at last.
Adora stood there. So that's why she was so broken up about this. "Hey, how about to cheer you up we have a movie night? You and me?"
Her friend smiled softly. "With buttered popcorn?"
"You know it." The blue eyed girl responded sweetly, making her way over to the pantry and pulling out the box of microwavable popcorn for them to eat.

The pair sat on the couch. They were an hour and a half into the two hour film that was playing on the screen, and Glimmer was halfway asleep. Adora took a handful of buttered popcorn and looked at her friend. "Better?" She asked softly when her mouth was no longer full.
Glimmer stared up at her and nodded silently, nuzzling herself closely to her friend.
Adora watched the rest of the film before she herself soon fell asleep. Or she would if her phone wasn't vibrating. Texts that were from Bow a couple minutes ago until now. Curious, she opened her phone.
Bow: Hey Adora?
Bow: Do you know what was up with Glimmer today? It was super weird.
Bow: I didn't do something did I?The girl's eyes were pinpricks at the words on her screen. She couldn't tell the truth. Could she? But if she did she'd reveal something of Glimmer's, therefore—in her mind at least—making her a bad friend! And if there was one thing Adora hated more than anything, it was being a bad friend to those around her. So she began typing.
Adora: She was sick. She wanted to get home quick.
Luckily Bow bought the lie because his replies came.
Bow: OH MY GOD! SHE'S ILL!? WHAT HAPPENED!?
Alright, Adora honestly wanted to put this behind her as fast as possible. But, she soldiered on.
Adora: Stomach bug. I'm being nurse for her. Should go away in a day or two.
Once again, much to her luck, Bow bought the lie yet a second time.
Bow: That's a relief! You're a great friend Adora
Adora stared at the words on her screen and put her phone down with a depressed sigh. For a girl who just lied to one of her friends, she certainly didn't feel so great at the moment.
