Leo Valdez x reader oneshots and drabbles

Saying goodbye

It was the day before your two favorite people in the world left to go on their huge quest. You had to say goodbye to your best friend Annabeth and your boyfriend Leo. you wanted to go with them so badly and protect them but Chiron wouldn't let you. This quest was only meant for seven demigods and frankly you suspected he thought you weren't strong  enough.

You woke up early so you could have breakfast with Leo since he still had a few things to add to the Argo II . All day you clung to him like he was your life source, which in a way he was. You followed him to bunker 9 and helped him finish the Argo II  . Over the past months of being his best friend he taught you a lot about mechanics. Sometimes he would stand behind you so close your back would press against his chest and you could feel his heartbeat. He would take your hand in his and show you the exact way to do something. You were so lost in your thoughts you didn't notice Leo trying to get your attention at first.

" Hello? Earth to (y/n). Anyone there?" Leo asked you.

"Sorry I was just thinking about how much I'm going to miss you. What is it?" You answered.

"It's really late and the Argo II is finally good and safe. I think it's time to head back" Leo said.

You and Leo walked back to the cabins together. He stopped you in front of the Poseidon cabin and looked at you a little sadly.

"Promise me you won't go making out with some other boy while I'm gone, k (y/n)?" He told you.

"Of course Leo I'd never do that! But you have to promise not to go making out with some other girl!" You said.

Leo linked his pinky with yours and said "I'll come back for you (y/n), I swear it on the River Styx." He pulled you closer to him and looked into your (e/c) eyes longingly.

 "Oh gods I'm gonna miss you so much," his voice sounded like it was about to break. 

" I'll miss you like crazy too repair boy." You leaned up and closed the space between each other's lips. After about a good thirty seconds you pulled away for air and whispered "goodnight." 

"Goodnight mi amor." Leo said as he started walking toward his cabin.

You tried to sleep but your mind didn't want to rest. You kept replaying horrible images of Leo dying on the quest. After what seemed like hours you finally cried yourself to sleep.

~time skip to the morning ~

The four demigods and coach hedge had to leave very early in the morning for the quest . You woke up almost every hour from a nightmare the last night so you ended up waking up from another nightmare at the exact right time to say goodbye to Leo (and the others). You ran out your cabin in a rushed outfit and headed to bunker 9 where everyone was saying goodbye. You jumped into Leo's arms right as you saw him and tried to hold back your tears as best you could. 

"I don't want you to leave me Leo." You said heartbroken.

"Trust me neither do I, but the whole world is kind of at stake here. I want to be able to live a life with my super amazing  hot girlfriend" he said.

You cupped his face and kissed him long and hard for the last time until who knows how long. As he climbed on the ship you held his hand and stretched your arm out as far as you could until you could no longer reach him.

"Bye (y/n)! Don't die, I love you!" Leo called to you.

"Goodbye Leo! Don't be too reckless, I love you too!" You yelled back.

You watched your friends fly up into the air on the Argo II until you couldn't see them anymore. The prophecy of seven was finally coming to a start. Leo was gone. You were all alone. All you had left in you was hope that Leo and the rest of your friends would survive.
