If there was one word I had to pick to describe Midoriya it would be green. Green hair, green eyes, green bag, this kid's a walking broccoli. He had a bright smile plastered on his face and a spring in his step, despite his previous encounters with Bakugo. He was quite short, and he tied his school tie weird, so it sat differently to everyone else's.
"H-hey there! It's Todoroki, right? I-I'm Izuku Midoriya- wait, you already knew that because I just stood up in front of everyone and told them, I also told them my Quirk, the kids in our class have a lot of cool quirks, yours is especially cool! I wonder what happens if you put an ice cube in the centre of your body and activate both of your Quirks at once, would it melt or would it freeze or would it melt on one side and freeze on the other..." Midoriya rambled on, tipping his head down and lowering his voice. He seemed as if he was entering a world of his own.
Either he feels awkward, or this is just how he is. I see how his and Bakugo's personalities don't match very well. One is very friendly and the other, well, isn't. Bakugo also seems to have a short fuse and I can see how Midoriya's rambling could get on his nerves. I don't mind it though. Huh. Usually, a person rambling would irritate me.
"Uhh, Midoriya, you're rambling," I stated, staring at him blankly. He looked up at me, cheeks flushed in embarrassment and started stuttering apologies at me. "It's okay, no need to apologise," I said, grabbing his desk and chair and pulling them next to mine, warranting a glance from Iida. I'm probably disrespecting the classroom or something, I don't fucking know. "Here, you can sit down, then we can start"
"O-oh, thank you, Todoroki!" he said, pulling his chair out and sitting on it before removing a pad of paper from his bag and a pencil. "What Quirk do you want to do the project on? We can choose one of our classmates, so long as their group isn't doing that Quirk too, or we could do one of ours, or we could choose a teacher-WE COULD DO ALL MIGHT'S QUIRK! Or aren't we allowed to do teachers' quirks because we already know the answer as they're all Pro Heroes already so that would be cheating- What do you think, Todoroki?" Midoriya turned to me, with a questioning look on his face.
...cute.
What.
C'mon Shouto, now is not the time for gay thoughts.
Plus, why would he like you anyway? He doesn't know you and, if he did, he definitely wouldn't like you like that.
He's probably looking for his soulmate anyway, or maybe he's already found them.
What do I care, soulmates are bullshit.
Just put the gay away and get on with it dammit.
Shit, he's looking more confused, I need to say something.
"I'm not sure, the choice is up to you Midoriya. I couldn't care less what Quirk we do, so long as I get my grades I'm happy," I reply, pulling my pencil out of my blazer and grabbing some paper from my bag.
"I really like your quirk Todoroki, can we do the project on yours? It would also be more interesting because you have two Quirks, we'd have more to work with."
I let out a small sigh, unnoticed by Midoriya.
"Sure, why not"
"Yay! Well, we'd better get to work then!" Midoriya smiled and pulled out the notebook that he had earlier, the one he was drawing in. I couldn't help but look over his shoulder as he started flipping through the pages.
"What's that?" I asked curiously, causing Midoriya to jump.
"O-Oh, it's my book of hero notes. Well, it's not my only one, this is my thirteenth book." Damn, thirteen? This guy's really done his research. Should be good for working with, he's probably thought about this sort of stuff for fun. Midoriya stopped flipping through when he reached a page with a doodle of me on it. He can draw really well, that looks really realistic. It's the pose I took at the front to demonstrate my quirks, along with limited writing about my quirks.
"Have you got a page like this for everyone?" I questioned, reading through his notes on me. He told me he had, but he had the most on 'Kacchan', or Bakugo. "Are we gonna use these notes to help with the task or are you just going to add to them as we do the task?" My comment led Midoriya to laugh, god he has a cute laugh.
Shouto, the gay came out again.
Dammit.
"A bit of both, but obviously the information you give will be more useful than the notes I managed to take from a ten-second demonstration"
"Mhm, well then grab your pencil, we can write down ideas and then do the project on a different bit of paper"
"Okay!"
Midoriya grabbed his pencil and started firing questions at me, which I answered. I didn't give long answers, but I gave enough to make the project good. Suddenly, the bell rang for lunch, and everyone, including us, began packing up.
"Hey, Todoroki! Do you want to sit with me, Uraraka and Iida for lunch?"
Not like I have anything else to do, plus admiring him gives my eyes some joy so why not. Floaty Girl and Sonic might be good company, you never know.
"Sure, why not" I said, my voice monotonous as usual. I stood up, slung my bag over my shoulder, helped Midoriya move his desk and chair back to where they belong, and went to meet up with Uraraka and Iida.
"Hey! Todoroki, isn't it?" Uraraka bounced over to us, a large smile on her face and Iida in tow. "Are you having lunch with us?"
"Yes, Midoriya invited me" I replied, setting off towards the lunch room with Midoriya, Uraraka and Iida following close behind, having a conversation about their projects.
