As I continued walking, Midoriya and the others caught up to me and decide to try and rope me into their conversation.
"We're doing our project on your Quirk, aren't we Todoroki?" prompted Midoriya.
"Mhm"
"Uraraka and I decided to do our project on her Quirk" Iida stated, his arms straight by his side like a soldier.
"We couldn't decide so we flipped a coin, I was heads and Iida was tails!" Uraraka said.
"I thought Todoroki's quirk would give us more scope for our project because he basically has two quirks and Todoroki agreed so we are using his! Isn't that right?" Midoriya said, turning to me once more.
"Mhm"
Why does he have to keep talking to me? I mean he's nice and all, but I mainly agreed to come to lunch with him because I don't know when I'll see him next and we need to get a time and place for this meet-up. I'm not great at conversations, I'm pretty sure that half the time people don't care or aren't listening anyways, so what's the point in joining in?
We reached the lunch hall. I got soba, Midoriya got katsudon and Uraraka and Iida got pork kutlet bowls. Before I knew it, I was frogmarched to their table and made to sit next to Midoriya, opposite Iida and Uraraka.
"Itadakimasu"
With that, we began to eat.
"How are you liking UA so far?" Iida asked Midoriya.
"I love it here! The school is so big, and all the students have amazing Quirks! I've been taking lots of notes on everyone and their Quirks, well as much as I can seeing as we all pretty much met today!"
"Oh, that reminds me. Midoriya, how do you know Bakugo? He said you went to the same school before UA? That must have been horrible," Uraraka asked, leaning her head on her palm and looking at Midoriya intently.
"Well, Kacchan and I went to the same middle school, yes, but we have been in the same schools all our lives! Our mums are close friends and until his Quirk developed, we were also close. But then he started thinking he was better than me, just because my Quirk didn't emerge when we were little."
"Is that why he called you Quirkless earlier?" questioned Iida, understandably curious.
"Uhh-um yeah, that's why!" Midoriya stuttered, seemingly quite anxious. "W-when it came through, Kacchan had already stopped talking to me unless he was insulting me or hitting me, so I couldn't really show him my Quirk. If I'm honest, I was also quite scared of what he would think of it"
(A/N: Midoriya does have One For All, and it was passed to him by All Might, he's just decent at coming up with lies on the spot)
"Why do you have nicknames for each other?" Uraraka asked, leaning in slightly to show her curiosity.
"Well, I call him Kacchan because, when we were little and before his Quirk emerged, he used to call me Izuchan. It's also partially because I can't say his first name properly," he laughed slightly at this before continuing. "Kacchan calls me Deku because the last part of my name can be read as Deku, and he says it means someone who is useless and who will never achieve anything." A sad tone has entered Midoriya's voice, and he looked down, his smile gone.
