The walk home from school wasn't as peaceful as the walk there. I thought about walking slower but realised that would just piss my father off more, so I didn't. All too quickly, I reached my house. Oh boy, here we go. I unlocked the front door, walked through and locked it up again. A heavy hand landed on my shoulder and I jumped slightly.
"What took you so long, Shouto?"
"I came as fast as I could, calm down."
"Don't backchat me Shouto, you know better than that."
"Whatever."
"Go get changed and meet me in the training room."
"Mhm." With that, I trudged past my father and headed upstairs to my room. I loosened and removed my tie, throwing it across the room. I'll move it later. I slowly unbuttoned my shirt, flinching as my fingers knocked against my bruised stomach. Hopefully, Endeavor doesn't give me any more bruises. I don't want to have to explain them to anyone. I unbuckled my belt and slipped my trousers off, grabbed some tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt and put them on. I laced up my trainers and left my room. Fuyumi met me on the landing.
"You off to train?"
"Yeah..."
"Father needs to lighten up on you. You're super strong already, and you need a break. He can't keep doing this to you."
"There's nothing we can do to stop him. He's stronger than you, me and Natsuo combined and won't hesitate to go all out."
"Good point. I swear though if he hurts you one more time-"
"Hey, Fuyumi, I'll be okay, I promise." Suddenly Fathers booming voice filled the corridor.
"SHOUTO!!! GET DOWN HERE NOW!!"
"Well, looks like I've gotta go. See you at dinner?"
"Yeah, see you then. And Shouto?"
"Yeah?"
"Try to be careful."
"I'll try." With that, I set off down the stairs and towards the training room. The door was ajar, so I pushed it open and walked in. Endeavor was at the other end of the room, clearly pissed off.
"You need to stop slacking off Shouto. You'll get weak, and I didn't raise an embarrassment," Endeavor said, shooting fire at me. I easily constructed a wall of ice to block it, which melted and evaporated. I could feel myself starting to get angry, but maintained my emotionless face.
I aimed a barrage of ice shards at him, which he easily dodged before jumping high and blasting fire at me. I constructed an ice shield to defend me from his assault and he melted some of it and smashed the rest by landing on it. He threw punch after punch at me, most of which I dodged. The last one connected with the bruise on my stomach from this morning, knocking me down in pain. He kicked me a few times before speaking.
"You have gotten weaker Shouto. You have also gotten more disobedient. You know you must do better. Do you want me to keep you here? Train you harder? Because I will. You are my masterpiece Shouto, start acting like it."
His little 'speech' made me even angrier, but I refused to let him see the effect he was having on me. I slowly got to my feet, my stomach and body aching from his attack. I wobbled a little but regained my battle stance, ready for round two.
