Chapter 7 - Evening

"So, Shouto, how was UA? Make any friends?" Natsuo asked me from across the table as we ate.

Classic question, should have seen that coming.

"I guess. This kid and I got partnered up for a start of year project and he is nice so, yeah? I think we are friends."

"Who are you partnered with?" Fuyumi asked, joining the conversation.

"His name is Midoriya, he's really smart. He's got 13 notebooks of 'Hero Analysis For the Future' so the project should be easy."

"Why? What's the project on?"

"Quirks and their applications for heroism."

"Damn, you really did get lucky with this Midoriya kid." When Natsuo said that, a small smile snuck onto my face. In more ways than one.

Fuyumi noticed the smile and quietly aww'ed at me. I glared at her and continued eating my food, unable to get the small smile off of my face. She nudged me under the table so I turned to look at her. She leaned towards me and whispered "You better tell me more about Midoriya later". I just sighed and nodded, knowing she wouldn't leave me be until I told her all about Midoriya. This should be fun.

We continued eating in comfortable silence, apart from some occasional dialogue and us thanking Fuyumi for cooking the meal. When I had finished, I took my plate to the sink and headed up to my room.

I slowly sat on my bed before lying down, realising the paracetamol was wearing off a little. I checked the time on my phone. 7:02. Too early to sleep. My phone pinged as I was putting it down and the screen lit up; I had a message.

07*********: Hey Todoroki, it's Midoriya :)

Hey Midoriya

I deliberated for a while over whether or not to use a smiley face too, but in the end I decided not to. I never use smiley faces, plus I barely know him. All I know is that he is my soulmate.

And hella cute.

Shouto you're being gay again. Don't be gay right now, he's responding.

07*********: Do u have any preference as to where or when we meet up?

Not in particular, although there are certain times we can't come to mine.

07*********: We can meet up at mine whenever, so it's probably easiest if I give you my address. What days are u free?

Would Saturday be OK?

07*********: Yeah, ofc! What time?

11?

07*********: Yep! You can stay for lunch too if you want?

Let me just check with Father

As I created a contact for Midoriya, I shouted my father and asked, "Can I have lunch at Midoriya's house on Saturday?"

There was silence before he responded.

"You know the rules Shouto. You can, but you must be back before 3 for training."
