Jack POVIt's nighttime, and there are no street lights around. The only thing that brings light at the moment is the moon and stars.
We decided to take a break, I for one feel as if I will fall on my face any moment if we had continued. We have no food or water, basically just helpless. I glance at Elsa who stopped by the water.
I feel like crap.
What she said earlier.
I really could of saved Merida... but I was stupid. So stupid.
Merida and I haven't always gotten along... but I still did care about her. But I lost my mind and just did something unimaginably cruel.
I see Lex going over to talk to Elsa, and she seems to snap at him at first. But then she looks calm, and seems to be listening to him.
I feel a pang of jealousy hit my heart, and I look away. I hate that they became close in my absence... I hate it.
I try to listen in to what they are saying, walking a bit closer towards them. "I don't know why I snapped... I'm sorry. I've just been having a hard time," Elsa mumbles.
"Understandable. And you don't got to worry about me acting weird anymore. I'm over it," Lex replies.
Elsa looks up at him like a child. "Are you sure..? I didn't mean to make you feel-"
He chuckles and ruffles her hair up making her squeal and back away. "You're too annoying. I'm fine, so stop worrying about it. You worry too much," he says. She laughs and hugs him.
I turn around and begin to pace to make it seem as if I wasn't watching them.
I hear footsteps coming towards me, making me turn around. Lex stands by me, and puts his hands in his pockets. "Is there a reason you aren't talking to her?" he asks me.
I shrug, trying to act normal.
"She's pissed at me," I reply.
"So? That's your girl, so get her," he says to me.
"Are you sure she's still my girl?" I ask, glaring at him. He looks over at me, raising a brow.
"You think I'm trying to take her from you?" he asks. I don't respond, and he chuckles. "Well you better go and talk to her before I steal her away," he says nonchalantly, then walking away.
The heck?
I don't know whether or not he was joking.
I turn around and look at Elsa, who now seems happier- splashing at the fish in the little lake. I walk slowly over to her, and kneel down beside her.
She senses my presence and flinches.
"Hey," I say to her, without looking at her.
"Hey," she says undertone.
"I'm sorry about Merida. I could of helped her," I tell her. "Yea.. and you didn't. You didn't think of any of the consequences..." she murmurs.
I hear her sniffle, making me look at her. "My friend could be dead," she says, beginning to cry.
I grab her hand. "Elsa.. I'm s-"
