Summary: You ask Calum out on a date after being sick of waiting for him to do it

______

"Calum!", you whisper yelled to him and tucked on his shirt. "Run!", you took off towards the escape sign and looked back shortly to watch him scramble behind you. "Y/N, why?", he stumbled behind you but overtook you quickly. "I think we got caught", you said out of breath and a giggle escaped you. He pushed open the heavy escape door and stepped out into the cold. You followed him and felt his hand wrap around yours, pulling you in one direction. "This way to the hotel", he smirked at you and slowed his pace slightly. Just when you had left the fenced-in area you heard the heavy exit door being opened again. You took the next corner as quickly as you could, hopefully vanishing from the security guards view completely. Calum stopped abruptly, leaning against the brick wall that closed the ally in on one side. You squatted down and took in deep breaths. Calum's heavy breathing was audible in the silent night and he let out a breathy laugh. "That was close", he chuckled and pushed his hands into his coat pockets. You stood back up and walked the few feet down the ally to look around the corner. "Clear", you said and saw him pushing off the wall. "Wanna go back to the hotel?", he wrapped one arm around your shoulder and pulled you into the side of his chest. "Only if you order room service for us", you poked a finger into his side and earned a laugh back from him. "Obviously"

Even though you technically had your own hotel room you would usually sleep at Calum's anyway. You had been friends for a while and lately the line between friendship and an relationship became muddy. You fell onto his bed and stripped your shoes off. Calum was already on the phone ordering food for you two. He knew exactly what you liked and didn't need to ask you for your order anymore. "10 minutes", he said when he put down the phone a minute later. You nodded and sighed happily.

You felt the bed dip next to you and Calum soon had one arm wrapped around you again. He pressed a kiss to your head before chuckling. "I kind of wanted to see his face when we vanished", he muttered into your ear. "Pretty confused probably", you laughed.

You usually would have never done things like that, sneaking into the venue the night before to check it out, but since knowing Calum he convinced you to do it with him. With Michael being occupied by his girlfriend he needed somebody new to do slightly stupid things with and so you simply replaced Michael. It made you and Calum become even closer and so even though you were afraid to get in trouble you were happy to join him every time.

You looked up at him and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. "Haven't done something like that in a while", you grinned at him but were interrupted by a knock on the door. You got up and opened the door, finding Luke in front of you. "Y/N? I thought this was Calum's room", he raised an eyebrow and wanted to turn around already. "It is", Calum's voice close to your ear made you jump a little but seeing Luke's reaction was even better. "Well then... Eh, I forgot what I wanted. I don't want to interrupt you any longer", he stuttered and turned on his heel walking down the hall quickly. Calum's laugh behind you triggered your own and you laughed out loud.

A few minutes later you were sitting on the bed, leaning on Calum's chest while he was sitting against the head board. You both were eating your late night snack with the TV playing another episode of some show that was on.

When your food was finished and you both had gotten ready for bed you were cuddling closer to him until there was no more space. Your head was laying on his chest and you could feel his steady heart beat. "I think I have a new favourite sound", you mumbled into his chest and felt his eyes on you. "And what is it?, he asked before playing with your hair. "Your heartbeat, it's just so comforting", a huge smile was plastered on your face and a warm feeling spread through your body. You felt his chest vibrating from his chuckle and you looked up. "I'm glad you like it, won't let you leave this position for a while", he said and pulled you a little closer to him again. His arms were wrapped around you and you could feel his biceps on your back. You sighed and placed your head back on his chest.

When you woke up the next morning you were still cuddled up to him with his arms tightly holding you in place. You shifted in his grip and heard him murmer a 'Good morning' to you. You laid still for a few minutes, neither of you moving or saying a thing. "Cal?", you asked carefully when you spoke up. "Hmh?", he answered and loosened the grip around you. "Will you go on a lunch date with me today?", you knew that soundcheck wasn't planned until the afternoon and he shouldn't have any appointments until then. He started a sentence three times before answering fully. "Yes, but Y/N shouldn't I be the one asking you?", he raised an eyebrow and followed the curve of your shoulder with his finger. "Well you didn't seem to ever ask and I didn't want to wait any longer.", you shrugged your shoulder the best you could. You didn't cared whether you went the traditional or unconventional way as long as you moved on further into this relationship. There never was any denial that you liked him more than a friend and you felt confident enough that he must feel the same way to ask. "Great, I will reserve a table for 12:30 if that's alright with you then?", you mimicked his fingers by drawing shapes along his chest. You felt him swallow before nodding.

"I'm sorry for my reaction this morning", he was in-between bites when he looked up from his plate. The restaurant you had chosen was a little bit remote and so you didn't have to worry about a hoard of fans like you sometimes did. You raised an eyebrow and stopped eating. "I didn't expect it. Not that I didn't want to go on a date with you.",he blushed and lowered his head a little again. "I always thought I would be the one to ask you out but I just never had the guts to do it", his voice sounded apologetic. "I mean we are never going to be a completely cliché couple anyway so I just thought I would take my chance now.", you shrugged your shoulder. "I waited long enough for you to make a move", you laughed and shoved another piece of your food in your mouth. "Sorry", he stayed silent for a second before continuing, "Well then let me take the next step right now so you won't have to wait again. Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?" You almost choked on the last piece of food that was still traveling down your throat. You started to cough, hoping to prevent the inevitable. Calum reached over the table, trying to pat your back. As soon as you had calmed down you nodded. His hand grabbed yours, pulling it up to his lips, kissing the back of your hand gently.
