Ariel has been here daily.
She almost did not show today.
Father's questions meant
she had to tell him and mother.
Her explanation was that
she met him once
and had enough of him
and they would not
meet again.
This wasn't enough
for the parents.
Father screamed about
the family tree and how
she needed to look for real
men, not these human beasts.
Mother asked how on earth
she thought this was good
for the kingdom.
Ariel loved the kingdom
more than anything,
but sometimes it was tiring
not being able to think
about herself.
She was going to stop
going back, but rebellion
sends her to him.
