chapter 14 » misunderstanding

-james's pov-

I was absolutely sister furious.

So much has been going on,yet nobody told me anything.On top of that,Grayson and Ethan just stormed off,and I was left with Emma.

She fainted.

Could this get any worse?

I did everything I could. Placed her back on the sofa and covered her with a blanket. Since this was a pretty big deal,I knew I couldn't get through it alone with Emma,I needed help,so I texted Olivia and Amanda.

When I told them to come over as soon as possible because Emma fainted,they were freaked out and I could literally feel their emotions through the screen.

So in the meantime while waiting for them to arrive,I decided to comfort all of us with some cookies and hot chocolate because we were about to have a looooong chat.

As soon as I was done in the kitchen,I heart my door bell ring. I opened the door,and Olivia and Amanda went straight to the living room.

,,Oh my god.. '' Olivia gasped

Amanda and I stayed silent.

Thank god,Emma was starting to wake up.

,,Emma!'' I said out loudly.

,,Shh James don't scare her now with your yelling,geez'' Amanda said

,,Okay,okay..Emma how are you feeling? ''

,,E-Ethan.. Where's Ethan? '' Emma mumbled as I let out a sigh.

,,Um..well he and Grayson left. ''

,,I messed up.. I hate myself.. '' Emma started to talk down on herself,but we were quick to stop her

,,Emski listen. '' Amanda started ,, Whatever happened,you need to tell us. ''

So,she started.

She started from the beginning all the way to the end.

How she kissed Ethan for the first time in Vegas.

The way Grayson was behaving when they were acting like a couple.

The time she kissed Grayson.

And that was so much to process.

But we had to get started somewhere.

After she finished,she said

,,I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys. I'm a terrible friend and an even worse girlfriend..''

,,Wait,but Emma..'' Amanda started

,,Why did you kiss Grayson in the first place? ''

-emma's pov-

why.

Why did I kiss Grayson?

I .. I didn't even know the answer myself and I was tired of lying and hiding things from them So i said the truth.

,,I don't know honestly. ''

,,My god.'' Olivia started talking ,,Is this some sort of a love triangle ? ''

,,Jesus I hope not. Emma..What are you gonna do..? '' James asked me

,,Well'' I started ,,I'll do my best to make up with Ethan and forget what happened with Grayson,I guess.''

,,Are you sure you can do that? I mean,forget it and possibly push your feelings for him away..? '' Amanda kept asking me 

,,Yeah..that seems to be my only option,so that's my plan...''

-james's pov-

When we asked Emmabout kissing Grayson,she seemed very puzzled and confused.And that's what worried me the most.

Ethan and Grayson are my dearest friends and I don't want literally anything getting in the way of our friendship,nor do I want Emma feeling depressed and confused.

But for now,I decided that it was enough talking.We had to do something to get our minds off of this whole situation,so I asked them if they were interested in going to get some food and coffee.

We were having quite a nice time and then later on we went to a park to breathe some fresh air.

But this day HAD to get even worse.. 

We sat on a bench eating icecream and there was Ethan,sitting just a few feet away from us. His face was buried in his hands and he clearly seemed very upset. As much as I wanted to go and comfort him,I decided to stay silent and pretend I didn't see anything. I just prayed that Emma wouldn't notice him.

And she didn't, for a little while.

But when Ethan kept staring at her with puffy eyes,she noticed him and she immediately stopped talking and froze in place.

Without a word,tears formed in her eyes as they were glued to Ethan's.

She jumped onto her feet and went straight to Ethan.

-ethan's pov-

There she was.The girl that broke my heart into pieces.

She cheated on me.

With my TWIN BROTHER.

She looked at me with teary eyes.She looked like she was about to say something,but before she even started,I interrupted her.

,,Don't bother. '' 

,,Ethan..Ethan please listen to me okay? I.. I can explain I swear''

She looked so small,fragile,and heartbroken.

I wanted to pull her into my arms and kiss her till death. Play with her hair and tell her that everything was going to be alright,but I couldn't. 

I just couldn't.

,,Ethan.. '' She sat next to me and placed her little hand on my broad shoulder. 

,,I'm truly sorry. I'll never do that again. I promise. ''

I just looked at her with sad eyes,and she kept talking,weakly. 

,,You..you know that I love you..right..? ''

What.

She loves me?

Like actually loves me?

,,Emma..I- I love you too. I've been meaning to tell you for a while now but..- ''

She connected our lips together and I just couldn't push her away.Maybe she learned her lesson.I'm hoping she won't do it again.
