"Why the gods would he be after you?!" Thor shouted.

"Shall I explain?" Hemidall asked.

"Please!" Thor yelled.

Cautiously Heimdall explained everything that Loki had to do with Thanos. Loki hadn't told Heimdall about his relationship with Thanos but he always assumed he knew. I mean it was Heimdall after all, he always knew everything.

When Heimdall finished explain the situation. Thor turned to Val and said in a scarily deep, "Protest him at all costs, I don't care what happen between you two, this is a life or death situation that my brother should not be in. So you protect him with all you have. And that is an order."

Val nodded and tried to pull Loki out of the throne room. But before they could make it out of the door, Thanos's ship hit a wire on the top part of the ship that caused the ceiling to collapse over the way out.

They were trapped.

Loki thought fast. He wrapped himself around Val and jumped as far away as he could from the still falling ceiling. Just in time too, because a moment later, where they had just stood, now had a large beam breaking through the floor.

Val and Loki struggled to get up as the ship shook with the incoming explosives coming from Thanos's ship.

"You have to get out of here! Please your majesty!" Val screeched over the noise at Loki. Loki hesitated.

"Please do it for me!" Val yelled with tears tickling her eyes.

"You and I both know that there is no way I can get out of this." Loki calmly said, making intense eye contact with her.

"Loki...?" Val whispered in a quivering voice.

Taking her hands in his and kissing the back of them, Loki said with tears now in his eyes as well, "My love, there is no escape for me, we both no that. I have to turn myself in, I cannot let the people of Asgard to die just because of me." Letting go of her hands, Loki turned and started to walk back towards the window where Thanos's ship now waited for him.

"Loki! No! P-please wait! Let's just t-talk about this! Please!" Val nearly screamed as she grabbed his hand whipping him around again.

Then Loki stared into her eyes with so much sadness and love that it made the tears she had been holding in, flowing down her cheeks like waterfalls. He gently reached up trying to stroke away her tears, when that did not work he simply cupped her cheek and she leaned into his hand. Loki then let his own tears fall as Val fell into his embrace. Loki buried his head into Val's hair as Val snuggled her own face into Loki's shoulder. They hugged there, only hearing each other's sobs and feeling one another's warmth, despite the constant explosions surrounding them. They did not know how long they had been hugging, but it wasn't long enough for either of them.

"I'm so sorry Valkyrie, I love you, so damn much, I always have and I always will." Loki said as he pulled away from the embrace to lock eyes with her.

"Please live your life, don't waste it crying over me." Loki said.

"Besides," whispered Loki as he backed away from Val, inching closer and closer to the window, where Thanos's ship's ramp now waited for his arrival. "I'll see you again some day."

Then wiping his tears away, Loki leaped through the Asgard ships window and onto the open ramp of the rival ship. Thor had already been taken captive already, and Loki assumed that Thor was the one screaming from inside the ship. But Loki was hardly focused on him, because all he could hear the screams of "NO! COME BACK! PLEASE! LOKI!" Coming from Val. Loki was tempted to turn to look at Val one more time, but he realized that if he turned to look at her he won't leave her and all of Asgard would pay. So, pushing the lump in his throat down, Loki stepped through the door that would lead him to his death. Leaving the Light in his life behind and alone, forever.
