5 years later

After the wedding, Val and Loki had settled down in a nice country home. They also had started a family. They had one daughter named Frigga, after Loki's mother. She had Val's hair and Loki's eyes. And today was her first day of school.

"Honey, hurry up your going to be late!" Val called up the stairs as she flipped the pancakes on the stove.

Loki was sitting at the table reading the newspaper and drinking coffee. But he smiled at himself when he heard the soft footsteps of his daughter running down the stairs.

"Sorry mommy!" Frigga said.

"Good morning angel!" Loki said as he scooped his daughter onto his lap.

"Morning daddy!" Frigga squealed as Loki started ticking her.

"Are you excited for your first day of school?" Loki asked.

"Yeah!" Frigga said while clapping her hands.

"Frigga, breakfast is ready." Val called from the kitchen.

Frigga ran to grab her plate and brought it back to the table, taking a seat next to Loki.
Val sat on the other side of Loki placing pancakes down in front of both Loki and herself. Once all three of them had finished. Val started rinsing the dishes.

"Oh honey, the bus will be here any second, put on your shoes!" Val said looking at the clock.

"Come on darling!" Loki said pulling Frigga towards the closet to grab her shoes. He tied them for her then handed her a coat and her backpack.

"The bus is here!" Val said as she opened the door "Time to go sweetheart!"

All three of them ran out to the front porch. Frigga then gave both her parents hugs and a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Bye mommy! Bye daddy!" Frigga yelled as she ran down the front porch steps and down the driveway towards the bus.

"Bye darling!" Loki called back.

"Have fun!" Val yelled.

Loki put his arm around Val's waist. She turned her head to look into his eyes.

"We turned out alright, didn't we?" Val asked.

"Yeah. We did." Loki replied, planting a small soft kiss to Val's lips.

Val gave Loki a beautiful smile, which Loki returned. Then with that the couple looked back to wave at their daughter through the now pulling away bus. Both of them knew that there was no need for a light in the dark, for there was no more dark at all.
