The Light in the Dark

Chapter 3:

The next morning when Thor arrived to the throne room on the space ship, Val was already standing next to the throne. The first thing he noticed was what a mess she looked like. Her eyes were red and puffy and her hair was like a rats nest. As to not pressure her, Thor simply took his seat and started consulting with Heimdall.

Val felt so much guilt for her actions the night before. And that is why when Loki arrived to the throne room, later than usual, with dark circles under his puffy eyes, and his hair a mess, all she wanted to do was run to comfort him.

But she couldn't.

Feeling another tear slip down her cheek, she quickly wiped it away as Loki approached the throne were Thor sat. They spent the rest of the day addressing the Asgardians concerns on the ship. However only Thor and Heimdall did the talking. Loki and Val spent the day staring at the floor or out the window, feeling too miserable to say a word. When the day came to an end they made their way back to their corridors. Val moved as quickly as she could and shut her door behind her. Loki gazed sadly at the door turning to his own. As he reached for the door knob, he heard the emergency siren go off.

Now running, Loki made his way to the throne room where Thor and Heimdall were already standing, looking in horror out of the ships largest window. Loki approaches them only to stop dead in his tracks with terror.

Val quickly pulled up next to Loki suddenly worried by his expression. Then she turned her eyes to the window that they were all staring out off. Suddenly her eyes started to shimmer with tears as she realized what was attacking their ship.

Shooting large energy bulbs at their now unsteady ship, was Thanos and a full on army.

"He's here for me." Loki whispered.
