Chapter two(2)

(Carl checked his watch again it was already 10:55pm, where the hell is Scarlet, suddenly a waiter walked up to him)

"Are you waiting for someone???we are about to close for today sir"

"Ok then I will leave, how much is my bill?"He payed his bills and left."Scarlet will never stop the habit of working overtime,she must be hungry,I wonder where she is".

    He entered a grocery shop and bought somethings and then he made his way to Scarlet's house...he prepared dinner and immediately he set the table someone flung the door open).

"Oh Carl you are here....wow this is delicious I think am hungry"
she says.

     "Wash your hands"Carl's says to her before she could touch the food.

      "Spare me you can't imagine how hungry I am clean freak"

    "Where have you been??"He asked.

   "Jane gave birth to a baby boy today and I have being with her my whole evening"

   "Why didn't you call me"Carl asked.

   "Because I didn't remember, guess what... am a godmother"

   "What was Jane thinking that she made you a godmother"

  "You are just being Jealous,...hey where is my birthday gift???"

"(Carl could feel his heart 💓 racing) oh I got you this"he said handing over to her a huge bunny. He couldn't show her the ring he bought for her the real birthday gift... giving it to her might put an end to their friendship...

   " Am not a child but since this my first birthday gift thank you Carl" she said.

     "Eat your food before it gets cold"he replied.

   "Hey when are you going to get married?,you are not getting younger".She asks out of the blue.

   "I don't think I will ever get married,I dream of having a quiet life growing old helping people, am just not the type for relationships"

    "Can you hear yourself??"

  "I just don't want to hurt anyone"

   "😃😄😃I am actually scared of you getting hurt and heartbroken 💔you are just too soft hearted and kind"

   "Can we please not talk about this???"he pleaded.

   "How about we make a bet and see who gets married first the winner will get a wedding gift $10,000"She proposed.

       "Let's make it $20,000"

  "😲😲😲 What's the confidence all about???".She asks.

   "It's not that am confident I can remember someone promise to marry me if she was old and single"

     "Are you trying to say am old???,you know I only said that in a drunken state".

    Carl drew in a deep breath...her words hurt...he has waited for her to fulfill that promise...seems it's just a joke to her. Carl thought staring at her...

      "Why are you staring Carl?... don't make me blush..."She joked.

     "How many hearts have you broken".He asks with a smile on his face and pain in his heart.

       "Lol... countless Carl and there are many more to come"She joked again.

     "I love the way you admit you are a heart breaker...Scarlet I think I will win the bet..."He joked.
     
       "Wow... I can't wait to see you do that..."She replied as they burst into laughter...

      (Next Day)
(Dum..!!dum!!!!)

"Yes come in"Scarlet says as she gently lifts her head to see a handsome gentleman,wow this is such a perfect Mr.right.

"Hello Scarlet am your new assistant"Daniel says with a wink😉😉😉.

"(Did he just wink at me,I saw it coming he's a flirt) Oh you are the one Mrs.Bridget was talking about...nice to meet you Daniel"

  "I will start work immediately"

"That's fine by me,don't forget to submit your designs by the end of today and please call me Director"

"Ok director I take my leave"he says giving her a smithing smile.

   "Is he flirting with me,or am I blind???"

(St . Richard medical center)
"What type of nurse are you?!!!,how could you do such a thing??!!,why did Mr.Richard send you to my office??!! I will send him a letter and make sure you are fired"

"James?why are you so angry???and why is she crying???"Carl asked.

"She gave my patient the wrong drugs and has put me in a tight spot"James explained.

    "Am so sorry sir it's a huge mistake on my part and I promise to rectify m...."

"Shut up and get out of my office young lady!!!"

(Beatrice went on her knees to plead,Carl gently whips her tears😭😭😭)

"It's okay James, don't fire her,let her work for me I will transfer my secretary to your department"Carl says and left.

After 30 minutes

       "Yes come in"Carl says.

   "Thank you very much Doctor Carl,if I had lost this Job I would really be sad,thank you very much, you have no idea how greatful I am to you for this.

      "You can start work
tomorrow,ask Pamela about my schedule"

"I will leave you to work now" Beatrice said and left.

        (Jane's house)
"Wow I have to say you are good with children Carl"Jane says

"Are you trying to say am not good with children???"Scarlet asks getting Jealous.

"My child gets scared even at the sight of you common"Jane says.

"Anyway I won't argue,did I tell you about my new assistant?"

       "No?,is he handsome???"

      "He is hot and daring"

  "I think your Mr.Right has just arrived".

    "But the bad news is,....he is younger than i,he is 23".

  "Who cares,after all age is just a number"

    "Excuse me"Carl says and walked out.

"What's with him???...hmm,I think he's jealous,we made a bet and I think am leading"

"You shouldn't have done that Scarlet, I think he hasn't gotten married because he pities you and doesn't want you to feel alone girl".

"He isn't married because he is just too shy he is an introvert or have you forgotten?"

"Guys don't chase ladies anymore it's actually the other way round I mean look at you,besides he is handsome and he is a house owner all he needs is a car and boom he is settled"

"😄😃😅😃😄😅,Carl??? don't make me laugh, he wants to grow old helping others, I wonder how you came up with this perfect life picture for him".
