Chapter Five (5):Golden Imprint

"I can't believe he signed the contract"Scarlet says excited.

"This calls for a Celebration"

"I Know a good restaurant,my treat".

They had a great time at the restaurant,the food was delicious, Soon they returned to the Hotel🏨.

"Ok Mr.Daniel you can return to your room now"Scarlet says.

"But you still owe me something,how can I leave???"

"Owe you?,what could that be?"

"A Kiss 😘......."he whispered.

Scarlet could feel her heart racing (He wants a kiss, he wants to kiss me).

"Daniel!!!!"

Scarlet heard a feminine voice call out,as she watched a scene play out in front of her.

"Hannah???,what are you doing here?,how did you know my whereabouts?".

"You know this lady???"Scarlet asks but before Daniel could reply, Hannah gave a reply to that question instead.

"I am not just a lady but his girlfriend,I believe you are his mistress?"Hannah asks as Scarlet could feel embarrassment run through her veins.

she walks out immediately She couldn't believe Daniel lied to her all this time, it's true when they say there is nothing like a perfect Love story.

Scarlet could not stop herself from crying,she decided to drink away her pain but damn!!!,the alcohol seems to have no effect.

She took the first flight back home,when she entered her house she was surprised to see that every corner of her house was clean and sparkling,She quickly calls Carl.

"You don't have to thank me"Carl says before she could say anything.

"Carl...(she says and bursts into tears)"
"Why are you crying Scarlet?, What happened?".

She gave no answer and this made Carl worry,then he made way for Scarlet's home immediately.

Carl enters her house to see her right at the door with her Luggage, looking miserable.

He felt like there was a knife piercing his heart that moment,he felt like crying as well, but no he was there to console her.

"Scarlet please get a hold of yourself,stop crying now"He says as Scarlet holds him and crys on his shoulders.

"I am so stupid,I can't imagine I threw myself at him and he must have being laughing behind my back".

"Are you talking about Daniel???"Carl asks.

"Yes of course,he is the reason I am heartbroken"

"Are you sure you are crying because you are heart broken???"

(Scarlet couldn't hold herself back from smiling)"you sure know how to to make me laugh,what type of a question is that???"

"You should see how miserable you look right now"

"Stop teasing me, heartbreak can kill you know"

"You have broken so many hearts before,now you know how it feels"

"Don't say that, have I ever break your heart"

" Countless times,just that my heart is immune and has survived through the years"

"I like the way you talk"

"I know you do, how about I take a day off and take care of my cute princess for today"

"You will do that for me???"

"Humhmmm,but first you need to freshen up and then we shall buy somethings from the grocery shop and cook"

"You will do the cooking right?"

"We will do the cooking"he corrected.

They both got somethings from the grocery shop, Scarlet forgot she was heartbroken,Carl was interesting to talk to, they got back home and prepared different meals together,Carl thought this would be the best way to get her mind off Daniel and it worked.

They watched a movie together while having alchohol.

THE NEXT DAY

Carl opens his eyes to see Scarlet's right leg on him,her hands on his eyes,it was the first time in twenty years he has Shared a bed with Scarlet,when he realized she was about to wake up,he closed his eyes and pretends to be asleep, Scarlet woke up and was Shocked to see Carl beside her,she had no idea what to do or how to react.

She got up,freshened up and left for work.Carl checks around to make sure she has left completely.

"How did I get on her bed,I just hope she doesn't take it personal,but we are friends,so it's normal,oh it really doesn't feel normal"Carl says to himself.

AT THE HOSPITAL

Carl checks his phone to see alot of missed calls from Beatrice,he was worried that something might have happened to her,he called her to his office.

"Good morning doc"Beatrice greeted.

"I saw the missed calls,what happened???"

"Where were you last night?".

"Do I owe you any explanations???".

"You were with Scarlet right???".

"Of course,I had to be by her side yesterday as a good friend"

"Do you even like me?...Do you Love me Carl???".

"Of course I don't hate you"

"I mean do you want me to be your girlfriend?,do you know how much I love ❤️you?"

(These were the kind of questions Carl hated the most,he would do anything to escape it)

"Answer me Carl".

"No,I don't want you to be my girlfriend".

"You love💗 Scarlet right?just say it already"

"And what if I do??, nothing changes,you know I envy you Beatrice having the courage to express your feelings, that's something I can't do".

"Then can't you just remove her from your heart💖 and place me there???".

"Then can you remove me from your heart 💖and place someone there, Someone who is not me?".

Beatrice walked out immediately having no answer to that question.

AT THE OFFICE

(Scarlet's phone rings,she picks the call,it was Jane).

"When are you coming back Scarlet???"

"Am back already,I came back yesterday"

"So soon???,how come?".

"I got the contract signed and my heart 💖 broken, Daniel lied to me,he had a girlfriend all this time"

"Hmm poor you,are you okay?"

"Of course,in fact I think am happy"

"That was quick,are you sure you even liked him?"

"Forget about him,can I ask a question???"

"Of course!!!!...."

"Am I cute???"
"Where is that question coming from???"

"Hmm....., Someone called me Cute last night,Carl did".

"Am not surprised,...but what makes you so excited? It's just a compliment Scarlet...my Son needs me... I will call you later"She says and ends the call.
