Chapter Nine(9)

Carl turns on the shower, even alchohol couldn't stop his pain,he was Shattered, the more he thinks of forgetting about her the more he realizes how special she is,but she doesn't seem to understand that.

Listening to his own heart beat, swallowing the bulge in his throat,he let's the hot tears travel down his cheeks, remembering her laughter,her silly talks,her crazy personality,will he survive with just these memories???.

He had such a bad headache,but the pain in his heart was worse than a headache,he sits on the bare floor trying to get a hold of himself but it wasn't easy,he made a mistake thinking he would be happy being her secret admirer,but it was already too late,no....no...there is still hope,they are not married yet but even at that he doesn't have the confidence to make her his within such a short time.

He got out of the shower,and took a bottle of whisky,he didn't stop drinking,he had to forget her.

Scarlet didn't know what she was doing,she felt pressurized and confused,she didn't even understand her feelings towards Carl, did she really love him???,or is she just imagining all this???.

When did it all happen?,how did everything change so quickly without any signs or signals,why does she feel so horrible inside?,why is her heart not happy?,was she really making the wrong decision like Jane had said???,She had so many questions but not even one answer she was going crazy, she wanted everyone to be happy when she gets married,but things turns out to be the exact opposite,why???,what was she doing wrong???. Suddenly her phone rings.

"Carl???..."she whispered as her heart jumped out her chest.
"I hate you Scarlet!!!!(Carl continues),you are so mean,how did I fall in love with you?,why did you steal my heart💓 without my permission???,you will never find a man to love you the way I do Scarlet"
"Carl???are you drunk???"
"Be quite Scarlet I will talk and you listen,do you take me for a fool?,you lier you promised to marry me when you were old and single,you told me I was handsome the first day I wore the hospital uniform,you kissed my cheek on my 16years birthday and said it was a mistake,you shared a passionate kiss with me and said it meant nothing,when Daniel broke your heart I let you cry on my shoulders and now you tell me you are getting married? don't you know you are mine?do you think I will let you go Scarlet?"(he drank a glass of whisky and continued).

"For twenty years Scarlet I have loved you from a distance for the sake of our friendship which I respect the most,but am only human I can't hid these feelings for long,there were times when these feelings tried to overpower me,when I wanted to hold you so close to my heart and make you feel my warmth but I had to control myself always,I didn't have the confidence to make you mine Scarlet,after everything, after all our experiences together,just because of one man you have decided to break my heart"(he stopped to take a deep breath and continued).

"Since when did our relationship turn into friendship Scarlet, because even without being told I know you love me,I could see it in your eyes and feel it so strong,you can't hid it Scarlet".

"Carl you had too much to drink, you are not yourself!!!!".
"Shhhh!!!let me do the talking,you once told me:"I want to have an adorable family,I will have three kids,and I will make sure those kids never end up like me,I will give them all the love in the world,and my husband will be every woman's dream"all these I had kept in my Sacred diary Scarlet"
"What diary??,That was ten years back"
"I keep everything you say in my 💓 heart Scarlet,you know someone once asked me to take you out of my heart,I tried but I didn't succeed because my heart was with you.........."he says slowly falling asleep.
"Carl!!!!,Carl!!!!".She called out,she ends the call and gently whips her tears 😭,she couldn't stop crying,she never imagined that Carl would have such deep feelings for her,Carl didn't get married because of her,he was in love with her all these years,she felt overwhelmed and guilty.

(THE NEXT DAY):
"Am excited Scarlet I can't believe we are getting married"Daniel says with a loving smile,he looks up to see her lost in thoughts,he puts her bags in the car and asks.
"Scarlet are you sure you are fine???"Daniel asks
"I want to talk to you about something"
"Do you not want us to get married in my hometown???,am okay with that".
"No it's not that Daniel,I just can't go ahead with this wedding"
"What do you mean by that Scarlet????"
"You are such an adorable person Daniel,but the thing is I don't belong with you...I can't do this"
"Don't do this to me Scarlet, please I love you alot,please"
"You don't have to plead Daniel,I just do not deserve you,I will leave now". Scarlet says as she left for Carl's house🏠 immediately but there was no one home damn,where could he be???,she called his phone but Jane picks the call instead.
"Scarlet please come to the hospital immediately Carl was in an accident". Scarlet dropped her phone in shock staring into thin air with a gap mouth stare,she didn't understand anything,she just ran from Carl's home till she got to the hospital panting.
"Scarlet...."Jane calls out hugging her tightly.
Jane looks at Scarlet and was confused.
"Where is Carl???,how is he???,
How did it happen???,Will he survive???......"
"Calm down Scarlet take a deep breath,the doctor said he lost some blood,but don't worry he will be fine"
"I made a huge mistake Jane,I was in the wrong,I feel so guilty,if anything should happen to him I won't be able to forgive myself".
"Don't say that Scarlet,he will be fine,where is Daniel???"
"I broke up with him...."
"Its ok,get a hold of yourself,I have go to my baby now,I left him home"Jane explains and left.

(AN HOUR LATER):
" Doctor James,how is Carl???"Scarlet asks immediately she saw him walk outside the room.
"Thankfully,he is out of danger and stable now,he is even awake"
"Can I go see him???".She asked.
"You can go see him,but please don't let him do anything,he is quite stubborn". Scarlet went in to see him.
"Carl,am so glad you are alright,what were you thinking?,you should have being more careful???".
"Since when did you become so caring???,by the way where is Daniel???".His words were faint,and his eyes were quite sleepy.
"Daniel is not here,he should be in his home town"
"You didn't go with him???,is it because of the accident?"
"I sent him away Carl,I am yours remember,I belong to you"
"What are you saying Scarlet???"
"You know when you called me last night,you gave me answers to so many questions...."
"I called you last night😯😥😯?"
"You said alot,I am sorry Carl,it seems I have always had you in my heart but didn't know when you stole it, you are not my type but you are my everything,you are my better half"
"Am not your type???"
"Common I have to be truthful,is that all you heard me say???.
"I think I have to get into an accident always,if that will get me your attention,I feel on top of the world when you stare at me like that"Carl says as Scarlet kissed his forehead,and then his cheeks.
"I think am going to get well soon"Carl says as they both laughed.
"Yeah,get well soon,so you can cook those delicious delicacies for me"
"I can't believe this is happening Scarlet,I never thought my wish will come true,if this is a dream then I really don't want to wake up"
"I 💖💖 you,and you have me all to yourself Carl,this is just the beginning of our many long years together"
