"You idiot, it's my son's life you're putting at stake here!" Daniel said grabbing Tayo by the collar and giving him another punch.

"Daniel, that's enough, let him go" Isabella screamed while trying to separate Daniel and Tayo.

"Tayo what were you thinking?!" Sandra shouted.

While Daniel and Tayo were exchanging punches, Bella tried to separate them and Sandra pleaded for her son's life.

Time stopped when they all heard a gun shot.

I scrolled through my Tweeter trying to get my mind off of everything that was happening.

These were the trending posts and hashtags.

At first I thought, it's probably someone else named "Joshua Stevens" but I was wrong.

When I'd finally read the full story, I found out that it was indeed my Joshua Stevens.

I couldn't believe it.

Why didn't Stephanie call and tell me about this?

According to the internet, Joshua had been receiving treatment in LA and when he finally gained conscious, he couldn't remember anything. The doctors later diagnosed him with amnesia as a result of the brain damage he'd suffered from the accident. And also, he was getting married soon to no other than Amanda.

I was dumbfounded. I'd been away from social media for so long that I had no idea of what was going on.

So Joshua won't be able to remember me or recognize me?

To think I planned on speaking with him as soon as he got back to Nigeria.

My phone rang bringing me out of my thoughts.

Chase.

"Hey babe, how are you?" he sounded cheerful at the other end of the line.

"I'm fine" I said plainly.

"How are you holding up? I know your dad's death-"

"I'm fine Chase" I bluntly cut him off. He'd been calling me since the previous day Richard died to sympathize and console me. It only annoyed me. "Can I call you later, I have somewhere I need to be right now"

"Okay... But do call me back" he instructed.

"I will" I said before hanging up. It was past four and I'd promised Katerina I'd go with her to the hospital to see our mom.

Monica (my birth mother) had been admitted to the hospital after her condition had gotten worse. According to the doctors, she had less than two weeks already.

Trina and I needed to spend as much time as we could with our dying mother because she could kick the bucket anytime soon. I was already mentally prepared for it but I had no idea if Trina was ready yet.

It was obvious she would get affected by our mom's death than me.

Trina had bought some fruits before we went to the hospital.

We didn't talk much with her because she was mostly asleep and didn't have the energy for a chitchat but I guess watching her sleep was enough for Trina.

I couldn't help but wonder what would've become of me if I'd been raised by my biological mother. I wouldn't have become an actress. I wouldn't have met the people I know today.

I discovered that everything in this life happens for a reason. Things might not turn out the way we want but it's always for a cause.

My phone buzzed signaling a text message from Sandra. It was time to leave for Ikeja.

I took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. I silently prayed today would mark the end of this madness.

Why did I come back to Nigeria again?

e all walked into the empty, dusty warehouse. It was an abandoned warehouse in Ikeja. We didn't tell anyone about it, not our parents, not the police.

I was so scared. We were all scared. Maybe I should've called the police.

"I still think this is a bad idea on all levels" Tayo whispered and Daniel shot him a glare.

"You can tell me that when it's your son being held hostage" said Daniel as he increased his pace.

The place was dark and dusty and we couldn't see anyone.

"You came!" we heard Tiffany's voice but we couldn't see her. "And you're early too"

Tiffany appeared out of the shadows with her arm around Trump's neck while pointing a gun to his head.

"Mommy" "Trump" Sandra and her son chorused in unison.

"We have your money..." Dan dumped the bag full of money on the floor, "...now, release him"

"Open the bag" Tiffany instructed and Dan crouched down and unzipped the bag to reveal some naira notes.

"Good" said Tiffany as she adjusted her grip on the seven year old. "It would be nice to shoot this kid and have you watch him die"

"That day at the pool house, you left me to die. You didn't even bother calling an ambulance or getting help. You guys are heartless" she said while we all kept mute. "Richard was the one who helped me. Somehow, he came into the building that night and found me. Took me to the hospital and contacted my parents"

"It was his idea to blackmail you guys. He needed the money and I also needed the money too since I was disowned by my parents after they'd found out I was doing drugs. Yeah, they're strict like that"

"Richard did all the work while I provided him the information he needed so your dad wasn't so innocent as you thought Bella" Tiffany smirked at me. "It was his idea to force you into marriage with Chase not mine..."

Tiffany was interrupted by the sound of a siren. It was a police car siren.

"I told you not to call the police!" Tiffany hollered before adjusting the gun on Trump's skull.

"We didn't.... Did you guys...." Sandra trailed off.

"I was the one who called the police" Tayo confessed. Daniel immediately rushed him life a hungry lion.

"You idiot, it's my son's life you're putting at stake here!" Daniel said grabbing Tayo by the collar and giving him another punch.

"Daniel, that's enough, let him go" I screamed while trying to separate Daniel and Tayo.

"Tayo what were you thinking?!" Sandra shouted.

While Daniel and Tayo were exchanging punches, Bella tried to separate them and Sandra pleaded for her son's life.

Tiffany looked enraged. "I swear I'm going to-"

Time stopped when we all heard a gun shot.

All heads turned and saw Tiffany on the floor while Trump ran to his mother.

The police men finally came in and I realized Tiffany had been shot from a far distance.

It was finally over.

A/N Do you think it's really finally over?
