02| Girlfriend

Coming back to Lagos was as normal as possible. Maybe because I had been locked up inside for the past two days I came back.

"mom I heard Brain Builders Academy is also a wonderful school " I said still trying to convince her to enroll me in a different school.

"Isabella if you're a changed person as you claimed to be then you have nothing to run away from" mom said still staring down at her food without looking at me.

You might be wondering why I'm trying to convince my mom to transfer me to another school but I can't show my face at Lagos Elites Academy not after what I've done to some people.
Don't get me wrong, LEA is one of the best schools in Lagos State. It a school for the rich and popular just like the name Elite implies I guess that's why mom insists I go back there.

"yes I am a changed person but I don't want to go back there" I said

"Isabella!" she snapped "you left Lagos on your own and you decided to come back on your own and if you're going to stay under this roof you go by my rules" mom stormed out of the dinning table after the last statement.

Joy who was sitting next to me gave me the you "see what you did" look

I woke to a quiet Monday morning. I thought about what to do for the day before it hit me - today was the day. I was going back to Lagos Elites.

I felt like going back to sleep at the thought of seeing people I hadn't seen in almost two years.

"Isabella will it take you till thy kingdom come before you get dressed and get your butt down here? " mom shouted from downstairs. I hissed and kept combing my hair.

"no!, this is the old Isabella acting" I said to myself " the new Isabella is obedient and polite and I'm going to school today to show them I've changed "

I grabbed my bag and went downstairs ate my breakfast and I head out to LEA.

On getting to school my heart beat faster and louder.
I was nervous. I walked side by side with my mum slowly to the principal's office. I looked around the environment and nothing much had changed. I could recall old memories.

"Good morning ma" mom and I greeted on entering the office.

"good morning how can I help you? " the old woman who seemed to be in her late sixties asked after we had taken our seats.
She was a new principal because the former principal was a grumpy man. My mom told her that I was in LEA two years ago. On hearing my name she stood up and began searching for something.

"I heard you have a high ranking in devious and immoral behavior " she said after looking into a file she had found. I was stunned on how she got to know about that.

"I that in her file?" mom asked the same question in my mind

"I don't think I can accept you here.....again "she said ignoring mom's question

"I know that my daughter was not the perfect student but she's changed " mom defended but I could tell from her voice that she wasn't convinced herself. I just had to prove it to them.

"madam, your daughter has been on suspension for more than a dozen times. I'm still wondering why she didn't get expelled ". Although I hated this principal already, she was right, and I wasn't expelled because of my mom's numerous bribes.

"I know and I'm begging you " mom pleaded "please " she added

The principal let out a heavy sigh before saying "fine! But I won't tolerate any form of indiscipline "

"thank you very much ma" mom said smiling ear to ear.

"thank you " I muttered loud enough for her to hear.

"I don't want any form of partying or alcohol and especially boyfriends " she said the last word louder.

Before mum could say anything a knock was heard on the door.

"come in" the principal said. The door opened slowly revealing someone I hadn't seen in forever.

"yes Daniel have you gotten the stuff?" asked the principal. Daniel walked in and came closer to the desk before handing a piece of paper to the principal.
I suddenly wished I would turn invisible.

"Bella! "he exclaimed after turning to see me

"you two know each other?"asked the principal

"yeah she's my girlfriend " he said with a devilish smirk.
Oh God I am in big trouble.
