"The grounders cauterized the wound. Saved his life." Clarke stated. Wren tried to drown them out and focus on the wristbands with Monty.

"Saved his life so they could string him up for live bait. Garden of Eden this ain't." Finn commented.

"This is infected. He could be septic. Any progress on using the wristbands to contact the ark?" Clarke looked to Monty and Wren.

"No." Wren's voice showed her frustration, and if it didn't, her throwing her tool in anger certainly did.

"I'm going to go get some fresh air." Wren announced, standing up. Monty caught her wrist.

"You can't go get high. I need you." Monty begged. Wren sighed but nodded, ruffling his hair and heading down.

Wren hopped off the ladder and looked around with a frown. She didn't know what to do instead as her plan had been to go get high again.

Suddenly Jasper's screams ripped through the air. Wren's wide eyes looked up and she suddenly tore up the ladder, making record time.

As she burst into the third floor, her eyes fell on the scene.

"Oh, god." She whispered as she realized Clarke was carving away the infected flesh. Wren leaned against the railing and tried to hold her stomach contents in and squeezed her eyes shut, trying her hardest to ignore Jasper's bloodcurdling screams.

Monty stood up, knowing how distressed she was and hurried over, letting the girl bury her face into his chest as he hugged her comfortingly.

Wren didn't dare pull away until his screamings stopped.

"Stop it! You're killing him." Octavia cried as she shot into the room, Bellamy behind her.

"She's trying to save his life." Finn corrected.

"She can't." Bellamy said, his mood souring as he spotted the closeness of Monty and Wren. Wells stood up.

"Back off." He warned.

"We didn't drag him through miles of woods just to let him die." Clarke added.

"Kid's a goner. If you can't see that, you must be as high as Wren." Bellamy shaded the girl who was about two seconds away from strangling him. "He's making people crazy."

"Sorry if Jasper's an inconvenience to you, but this isn't the Ark. Down here, every life matters." Clarke snapped, her anger at the man clear.

"Take a look at him. He's a lost cause." Bellamy said and there was silence. Wren glared daggers at Bellamy.

"Octavia, I've spent my whole life watching my mother heal people. If I say there's hope, there's hope." Clarke reassured the girl.

"This isn't about hope, it's about guts. You don't have the guts to make the hard choices. I do. He's been like this for 3 days. If he's not better by tomorrow, I'll kill him myself." Bellamy promised and Wren shot forward before Monty could stop her.

"You lay a finger on him and I'll show you some guts. Yours." Wren threatened, shoving him. Bellamy just clenched this jaw and met her gaze for a moment before turning away.

"Octavia, let's go." Bellamy said to his sister.

"I'm staying here." Octavia didn't even look at him, causing him to huff and storm off.

"Power-hungry, self-serving jackass. He doesn't care about anyone but himself." Monty cursed Bellamy out but somehow kept his politeness, something Wren couldn't relate to. "No offense." He even apologized to Octavia.

This kid was too pure for this world.

"Yeah. Bellamy is all that. But he also happens to be right." Finn spoke up.
