"Well, that was a beautiful evening, wouldn't you agree? I certainly enjoyed myself," says Gannondorf.

Zelda removes her veil and throws it on the dresser. "How could you?" she says. She planned on acting sad as she has to come to learn that crying gives her the upper hand. However, she is so genuinely angry that any hint of sadness would be lost under the heat that is scratching its way to the surface.

"What on earth are you talking about?" he says.

"I know you're a smart man. Too smart for your own good so don't even think about playing dumb with me." She waits for him to make a move but her anger has surfaced and everything else is out of her control.

"How could you tell everyone that I was pregnant without consulting with me first? Did we not just vow to honor one another?" she says with a clenched jaw.

"Oh I see now," he says. "You didn't like that I announced our pregnancy, did you? Would you say that... it surprised you?" he says as he twists his wedding ring around his finger.

He is smart so he is good at manipulation. Zelda has a instinct that he is going somewhere else with that question and so she stumbles over her words as she wonders how to answer it. "Yes, I was surprised and I felt betrayed," she says cautiously.

"Exactly," he hisses getting close to her. "Just like I was surprised to see him here tonight."

"Are you serious? You want to get back at me?" she says as she removes her accessories banging them on the dresser. "That's a little too far is it not?"

"We can all be full of surprises dear," he says. "Why was Link here tonight?"

She doesn't respond.

"You didn't exile him," he says.

"I resigned him of his duties and told him not to step foot on the Royal Grounds."

"And you did that forgetting he had no choice but to show up to our wedding," he says.

"Gannondorf, he is of no threat. He is without the job and home that he knew for eleven years. I thought it was callus to do anything more," she says.

"He is of no threat huh?" he says also removing his wedding attire. "Then it didn't matter that he couldn't look at us marry? And him knowing your pregnant isn't what bothers you about my surprised announced?"

She furrows her eyebrows, shaking her head. "No. It doesn't matter."

"I don't believe that for a second," he says. "If you weren't able to exile him like I asked then that means a couple of things. One is that there are feelings--"

"Gannondorf. It's not like that," she says calmly. If she gets too defensive, he may question her more.

He ignores her. "One is there are feelings involved and another is that by allowing him to stay here, perhaps some part of you hope that he will come in his shining armor and rescue you."

She is done playing these games. "If you have something to say, then say it," she says.

He sits on the bed letting out a satisfying groan as he lifts his chin towards the ceiling. He sits comfortably now, leaning back and tapping his finger on the bed.

"Link must be executed," he says.

"Executed? No. No, we don't have to do that. I will exile him. I will go to Koraria right now to tell him he has to leave Hyrule."

Gannondorf shakes his head. "I'm sorry dear, it's just too much risk for myself and my kingdom knowing this legendary hero, or whatever the fuck he's called, walks among my lands. That will be the first order of things to do once we get back to business. Now that that is resolved," he says unbuttoning his shirt, "we can enjoy our night as newly weds." He walks to her and places his hand on her shoulder but she shrugs him off turning her back to him. A disrespectful gesture towards your king and husband. He quickly grabs her and using more force than what he needed, turns her to face him.

"Do not turn your back to the king. Now, let's get ready for bed and do not dare let this little conversation affect your performance," he says nonchalantly as if they merely has a squabble as to who forget to take the garbage out.

"As you wish, King Gannondorf," she says gritting her teeth. It's the only thing she can do so she doesn't spit his title directly in his face.

"Shit," she slurs. "I forgot my shoes. Mister Guard Man! Please won't you bring me back to the castle to get my shoes," she says waving to the guards who are far enough away from the village that it would be impossible to hear or see her. Link and Lillian didn't realize how much booze she had until they made it home. By now, she is stumbling around and Link has to use all his strength to keep her up.

"Your shoes are in your hands, Lillian," says Link. She looks at her hands and then starts laughing so hard that she can crouches over then falls down.

"Are you coming or not?" says Link watching her roll on the ground. She flops over on her back like a dead fish.

"Can't," she says. "Everything is moving too fast."

Link lets out a sigh before he places one arm under her neck and and the other under her legs. He hoists her up and carries her back to her home. He is feeling a little tipsy himself but he has no trouble walking with her in his arms.

"Alright. Now that's what I'm talking about. Now all you gotta do is..." she extends her fingers to the corners of his mouth and pulls his cheeks up. He laughs.

"That's it. Service with a smile. Just like I want. Damn it all! Just like I deserve!" she yells.

"Be quiet, Lillian. You're going to wake up the village."

"Party pooper," she says. When they arrive home, he gently lays her on the bed and turns to leave.

"Wait," she says.

"Now what did you forget?"

"I can't get out of this dress alone," she says. She turns over, lying on her stomach but Link hesitates.

"Grow up. I never asked to have your children," she says.

His hands are trembling but he isn't sure if it's from the alcohol or not. He holds his breath to steady himself as he unties and loosens the string of her corset. She sits up and her dress falls over her chest and arms.

"Alright, good night," he says with the intention of bolting to the door.

But Lillian grabs his wrist, stopping him dead in his tracks. She pulls him back towards her. "Stay here," she says smiling with her head cocked flirtatiously to the side.

He looks at her and her dress has fallen down revealing more of her than what he has ever seen. He blushes and turns away, giving her privacy.

"I'm not asking you to be a gentleman," she says. "You don't have to look away."

She stands up and then takes his hands putting them around her neck. Heat rises in his body as his flesh comes in contact with hers. He closes his eyes and brings his face towards hers. The temptation is there and it's real. He wants so badly to loose himself in her and for a moment, that is is intention. But the moment is brief. For some reason, an image of Lillian bruised and beaten as a child flickers in his mind. Link pulls away.

"Please don't," she says.

"I'm sorry. It's not right," he says. "It's not the right time."

"It never will be the right time for me Link, will it?" she says. She climbs out of her dress and into her bed. "I'll be here if you change your mind."

He stays there for a moment as he convinces himself he is doing the right thing. Then he closes the door behind him settling for the couch as opposed to the comfort of a woman's bed.
