Gannondorf and Link leave the crowd and Gannondorf shews several of his guards for more privacy. They men are silent for a moment, each hoping the other will speak first.
"I know you and Zelda conceived Eli," says Gannondorf as he grows impatient. His face is to the sky as if the stars can bring him comfort during what was probably the biggest betrayal of his long, miserable life.
"I don't know what you're so distraught about," says Link. "It wasn't an affair."
"That's not the point. I was lied to. I mourned for a child that was never my own like I matter no more than some stupid cattle." Gannondorf scoffs when he realizes how valuable stupid cattle can be. "And above it, all this means that a child who is not my own is heir to the throne. I can't have it. My spirit won't rest if that happens." His top lip rises like he might vomit the rest of his thoughts.
"You have quite the ego."
"Do you know why I'm here?" says Gannondorf.
"To kill me? To take over the mines? To take Lillian? Eli? Who knows."
"I am taking you and Lillian and your boy back to the castle once I find Eli. You guys are illegal emigrants of Hyrule and will therefore you are to be imprisoned until your trial awaits."
"New rule?"
Gannondorf doesn't respond.
"I don't care what you do to me, but you won't touch Lillian and I won't let you find Eli."
"That's right, you don't know. Eli is with my men right now. That's right. One of my men found him walking alone. Not sure what he was doing out in the field by himself though."
Is he telling to truth or just trying to get a reaction from me? It doesn't matter, even joking about his son evokes a reaction. He lunges at Gannondorf but seemingly out of no where, two soldiers block him with their swords as if he is the most precious thing in all the land. Link stops and the men walk towards him, swords pointed at his neck.
"Don't kill him. I want him alive when we get back to the castle but we got some work here to do first. Ensure all the exists are guarded well. No one is to get in or out of the village." He looks at Link. "Find yourself in trouble and you will be shackled until I go and who knows how long that will be. You best behave... which includes keeping a respectful distance from my wife."
The two head back to the heart of the town and Zelda approaches them in a panic. "Have either you seen Elule?" she says frantically.
"No," they say.
"Is everything OK?" says Link.
"I'm not sure. I haven't seen her and I'm getting worried." Gannondorf looks at one of his guards.
"Tell the men to halt their work in the mines. Finding Elule is everyone's priority."
Everyone looks around the village including some of the villagers which Link is glad about. She is Eli's half brother, after all. After an hour of no luck, Gannondorf decides to look on the outskirts of the village with his men. Link is at Lillian's after he spent some time looking for Elule. She is sat on the couch holding a pillow on her lap with a sullen look on her face.
"Did you have your turn in helping find the girl?" says Link.
"Nope," she says bitterly.
"She's just a child."
"It's their child. I'm not helping them and I'm not sure why you are, to be frank."
"She's Eli's sister, Lillian."
