walking out of the police station, i sighed in relief. finally, the world is on my side! the police apparently found the bag stashed somewhere nearby. the only thing that was gone is my purse. luckily, i tucked my pay money inside a notebook.

i felt lighter now that i'm reunited with my bag. i barely got any sleep last night because i was worrying about the money in my bag.

sitting on the seat of the bus stand, i pulled out my phone to check if i got any new messages, which is usually none because your girl's lonely. swiping through my latest chats, my fingers stopped at jaemin's. should i tell him?

YAY
i get off early today
arcade?🤨

giddily, i quickly typed a yes.

during our middle school years, jaemin and i would always go to the arcade after school and play games for hours. behind our mom's backs of course. until one day, being a rebellious teen, he skipped academy to play arcade games.

i hated how he was taking things for granted by skipping a class his parents paid for and i even nagged him to go but he was too stubborn. me being a tattletale, i texted his mom about it.

i felt kind of guilty afterwards because he ended up being grounded from going out after school and electronics for a week. thank god he never finds out about that.

after that little incident, i gained more trust from mrs na. she would text me everyday, asking me to check up on jaemin and make sure that he's not being naughty. mrs na really loves him, being overly protective and a little strict at times. he is her only child after all.

i still remember mrs na cooing and pinching his cheeks whenever i come over. giggling at the thought, i walked to the door of the bus.

"the angle is so bad in this picture," i pointed at my face the photo sheet.

"no, you're just ugly," jaemin grinned and i gave him a stink eye.

"let's play that game," he said, pointing at our old favourite game, just dance.

i immediately shook my head, flashbacks of me slipping while dancing and falling straight on my bum with a loud pang plays in my mind. it hurt for days.

"c'mon let's play it!" jaemin whined, taking my hand forcefully to the brightly lit stand.

-

"i'm so full," i sighed, patting my bloated stomach that has been filled with my favourite foods.

"you must be happy because you didn't have to pay for it," he snickered, rolling his eyes.

"hey! i paid for the arcade,"

"we only played 5 games, so in total you only had to pay 10 bucks. i, had to pay a whole ass meal!"

i rolled my eyes in response, putting my hands into my pocket. typical jaemin, complaining about ittiest bittiest of things.

we were both sat on a bench, waiting for the bus to go home. the cold wind blew harshly to my body, leaving me shivering. i should've worn an extra layer.

pulling out my hands from the pocket of my coat, i started rubbing them ferociously and puffing air into it for the slightest bit of warmth.

jaemin chuckled before taking one of my hands and stuffing it inside his coat pocket.

"that should keep it warm for a while," he whispered.

maybe my hand wasn't the only thing that felt warm.
