i'm never drinking. ever again.this morning i threw up a million times and i felt like there's bricks banging my head. why did i ever think drinking at night, when i have work tomorrow was a good idea? i've never felt so reckless my whole life.
i scrambled around the house, ironing my work uniform while my head is spinning. it was just one bottle of soju. i accidentally slept in as well, just great. judging by how fast i'm getting ready, sonic would feel challenged.
"sooyeon-ah, have some soup. it will help with the hangover,"
i quickly grabbed a spoon, slurping on the soup. ah, it's hot. grabbing a bottle from the fridge i took a huge gulp.
"don't forget to say thank you to jaemin, he carried you on his shoulders last night. he would make such a great so-"
i choked on my drink, coughing. what?
-no matter how quick i was just now, i still am very much late. through the glass door i could see youngjae obediently wiping the table as if his life depended on it. hmm...how strange.
his head jolt up in my direction as i stepped into the cozy cafe. i smiled at him cheekily, knowing i was late. instead of returning the smile, his face was stone cold and his eyes pointed to his right while aggressively wiping down the table.
"why are you acting so we-"
i was interrupted by a cough. my heart dropped. oh no. don't tell me it's who i think it is.
"would you like to explain why you came so early today, miss kim?" mr yoon questioned, his eyes wider than saucers and his mouth in the shape of a hemisphere.
why today? out of all days? i usually arrive 5 minutes early everyday. my mind tried to make an excuse but the alcohol i drank last night made my brain malfunction.
"if you continue being lousy again, i won't hesitate to fire you!" he fumed.
i nodded with my head bent down. go you sooyeon. you just dissapointed mr. yoon again. if only i didn't had that sip of alcohol. if only i never agreed to jaemin's stupid offer. ugh. this is all his fault.
"no more wasting time now! get to work!" he affirmed, leaving the shop with a cup of coffee and a newspaper.
i breathed out a breath of relief and just as his figure is nowhere to be seen, youngjae collapsed to the chairs dramatically. "yah, why are you so late today," he asked as i am always the earlier one.
"i went out," i shrugged putting on my apron and gulping down water from my water bottle. apparently water can help with hangovers. but that's what they all say. you want clear skin? drink water. you want to lose weight? drink water.
"omo. was it a date?" he giggled like a middle school girl, making me spray the water from my mouth. what the fuck. ew, imagine dating jaemin. yuck.
"let me guess, you got really drunk and the poor guy had to bring you home," he said. i stood in disbelief at everything he said. was this guy spying on me? or is he a mind reader? omo, what if he's reading my mind right now? "and...."
i raised my eyebrows anxiously at him. oh my god. he totally is reading my mind right now.
"and the poor guy is jaemin," he smirked victoriously.
"h-how do you know?" i stuttered in disbelief.
"who else would treat you?" he snickered, earning a smack from me. he winced in pain, stroking his shoulder. if i could, i would pull out his hairy leg right now and pull on it one by one and make him suffer. never mind, that made me sound like i have a hairy leg kink.
"you should forgive him. you know, after all you guys were so close when you were younger and i think you both secretly miss each other,"
his statement made my eyes roll. pfft, me missing jaemin? never. he sounds exactly like my mom right now, babbling on about this and that.
"just let it go sooyeon. he did apologize, right? and from the looks of it, it does seem since-"
"welcome to sunshine cafe!" i greeted the customer who just walked in.
j a e m i n
"let's go see sooyeon!" i suggested. i am so close to earning forgiveness from that little brat."oh right, you're still trying desperately to make her forgive you," jisung snickered slyly. this little boy never knows how to respect his own hyung.
"i'm almost there, okay?" i huffed crossing my arms together.
"i understand why she still hasn't forgave you, what you did was so uncalled for," renjun muttered.
"i really didn't mean it! and she's so stubborn and i'm making it up to her," i shouted defensively at them who constantly takes sooyeon's side. "i already treated her and she still hasn't forgiven me yet!"
"do you think you can just buy an apology with food?" haechan said with his brows furrowed and wide eyes, scratching his head. i nodded my head. well, food makes up for everything right? and this is sooyeon we're talking about.
"NO YOU CAN'T!" he shouted , making all of us flinch. geez, calm down.
-
i waited outside the cafe, waiting for sooyeon to get off. i can't believe i'm doing this. whatever, i need to do this so she will forgive me then i won't feel guilty anymore. guilt really is the worst feeling ever. and maybe haechan will stop holding a big grudge towards me.the lights in the cafe shut off and sooyeon appeared at the door.
"what are you doing here?" sooyeon asked, looking like a confused puppy. her chin covered by a giant wooly scarf wrapped around her neck, her hair tied into a bun.
"i'm here to walk little yeonnie home," i stated proudly, making her roll her eyes and groan.
"thanks, but i didn't ask," she sassed.
"oh really? but yesterday you said you miss me,"
her eyes widened in shock and i could see her cheeks pink underneath the scarf. how funny. i laughed at her expression. she hid her face in her scarf in embarrassment.
"you also said th- hmm, never mind," i teased some more.
"what? what did i say?" she shouted with her eyes wide. i giggled in response, making her face turn into a mix of anger and confusion. oh my god, this is funnier than i thought.
