"yeonnie, i missed you." he confessed, his hands on my shoulders. his sincere eyes stared at me and his lips slowly quirked into a dorky smile. how much i've missed that smile. his smile was so contagious i could feel myself mirroring him.

"best friends forever?"

i pulled out my pinky, reaching out to-

"ouch!"

"what are you doing? you've been squishing the hell out of my goddamn pillow!" sooah whined in her school uniform.

looking down at the pillow around my arms i threw it across the room, landing on the picture frame on the desk. kim sooyeon, what were you thinking?! i hit my head, in hopes it could instantly erase all the memories from that horrifying dream.

"unnie, who were you dreaming about huh?" she giggled, wiggling her brows. oh no.

with her hand on her chest, she sighed dramatically, "i missed you too jae-"

i jumped out of the bed, slinging my arms around her neck threatening to choke her.
"don't you dare" i threatened her, before freeing her from my grasp.

"omma! sooyeon had a great dream she would like to tell!" she screamed once she left the room.

-
the elevator door opened, revealing a smirking jaemin. hell no.

"did you bring all the orders?" he asked eyes peeking through the heavy basket i was carrying.

peering up at his face, his mouth was stretched into a playful smile. oh my god. i thought, flashbacks from the dream earlier flashing in my head. what is wrong with me?

"why did you order so much?" my eyes wandering everywhere except his. walking towards the rehearsal room, the basket felt even heavier. i must have muscles by now.

"i'm gonna share it with my friends, duh. no one can eat that much alone. oh wait," he giggled, staring down at me.

"sooyeon-ah!" jeno greeted warmly with his eyes crinkled, taking the heavy basket from my grasp. and i thought chivalry was dead. my cheeks warmed. it was probably obvious because i swore i heard jaemin snicker behind me.

"you should come in and we can-"

"no, sooyeon is busy. right?" jaemin cut off jeno, shooing me. i was left speechless, shaking my head.

"okay! annyeong sooyeon!" jaemin said annoyingly, pushing jeno into the room before slamming the door in my face. what a cockblocker.

"there's so many people today," youngjae sighed.

"our sales went up since you start working here," i smirked at him, reddening his cheeks. there has been a ton of college girls flocking around here hoping to get youngjae's attention and some of them are even bold enough to ask him for his number.

the clock striked 9 pm, a few more minutes till closing time.

  "welcome to sunshine cafe,"

looking up from the floor, i felt my heart drop. choi ahreum.

she stood there glamorously with an expensive faux fur jacket and a pair of shades, and a little chihuahua attached on a leash, looking like your typical spoiled rich girl.

youngjae quickly asked for her order, seeing my uncomfortable face. mentally thanking him, i pretended to be busy with the coffee machine. making sure only my back was facing her, i listened to her order attentively.

"one soy vanilla latte, decaf and water," snickering at how pretentious she's being i quickly made her order.mwhen did she like coffees? the only think she could tolerate was a starbucks frappe. i thought, remembering the time she gagged when having a sip of jaemin's americano.

"hey! what kind of brand is this water? my dog only drinks evian!" she whined, her eyes narrowed. youngjae smiled awkwardly while looking at me for help.

the doorbell rung and a couple walked in looking at each other lovingly with arms around each other. aww, i want that.

"ki tae?" ahreum mumbled with a confused look on her face. the guy's eyes widened, his arms unlatched from the girl next to him. youngjae and i glanced at each other awkwardly, confused on the events rolling in front of us.

"so this is why you've been avoiding me recently?" she spit out, voice laced with hurt. her eyes watered and tears were spilling over her cheeks. oh. i looked away, not able to go through the awkwardness of the situation.

"i-i can explain," he said shakily before his cheek was met with ahreum's hand.

"leave! i don't want to see you anymore," she yelled, her fists clenched.

just as the two left, ahreum collapsed to the ground bursting in tears. i pursed my lips sympathetically before telling youngjae to clean up the cafe for closing.

i kneeled next to the crying figure, handing out a tissue. she snatched it from my hands, blowing out her nose. she slowly looked up, her eyes glancing at my face then the tag on my chest.

  "sooyeon?"
