Hospital (Choni)

She heard her phone vibrate and it was going to be a dreadful call.

"Hello?"

"Cheryl can you please come to the hospital right now?" She heard the voice, panicked out of breath.

"What's going on?"

"Please come, Toni is seriously injured we don't know what's going to happen. Pleas come now!" The voice breaking down even more.

"I'm on my way." She says panicked, looking around for her cat keys before heading down the stairs quickly, and gets into her car with ease.

The car dead silent, it was slowly eating at her the suspense, the unknown disaster she was about to walk into, it scared her.They were just about to move in together it was their 5 year anniversary, they were engaged just days before. When you hear the word hospital it was always bound to be heartbreaking whether or not you know the person. The strong, fierce Cheryl Blossom was breaking down each second she was in the car. But Antoinette Topaz was slowly dying, her last moments were going to be surrounded by her love ones or alone in a hospital bed. She finally arrived in the hospital rushing in and saw Sweet Pea, Fangs, and Jughead all sitting anxiously. They were all talking their feet rapidly and shaking but worst of all hands covered in blood. Her heartbeat started increasing with every step she took ever so close to find out what was going on. When she reached the 3 Serpents she dropped her bag.

"W-what happened?" She asked her voice cracking ever so slightly.

"T-Toni was leading charge in one of our drug busting operations and we found her lying on the ground with blood flowing from her stomach. We didn't know how long she was lying there for but we hurried her here and we don't know if she's going to make the surgery." Fangs managed to croak out.

The information hit her like a brick, she slowly crumpled to the ground crying softly before breaking down.

"Why did it have to be her? Why couldn't it have been anyone else? It wasn't supposed to be like this." She cried out.

"Of course it wasn't supposed to. But this is a gang and you should know that our lifestyle is dangerous." Sweet Pea calmly replied.

"How can you be so damn calm? Toni is currently going through surgery how can you say something like that? If this was you, everyone would be sad and why isn't anyone else here?"

"We figures that you would want to be the first to know."

"Damn right I am, but if you think that I'm not going to beat your ass for getting her in this position in the first place then you are mistaken."

"I understand Cheryl, more people are in the way. You were the first to come."

"Good. How long has she been in surgery for?"

"We got her here about an hour ago."

She nods silently before picking up she bag and sitting down in one of the chairs tapping her foot sporadically. The only sense of comfort she got was from Betty who showed up minutes later. But it still wasn't enough, she still felt a pang of discomfort in her heart. Like a knife digging into her flesh repeatedly. It hurt and would never go away without relief. 2 hours pass and she gets even more anxious, afraid of what's happening. But at last she gets confirmation.

"Family and friends of Antoinette Topaz?"

They all pick their heads up at the mention of her name.

"She got out of surgery moments ago and was booked into a room if you would like to visit her pleas do it one at a time."

Everyone looked towards Cheryl. All looking at her to go. She gives in and follows the doctor to the room, anxious with every step this was the first time she would be seeing her since this morning. He stopped and opened the door and gestured her to go in, she steps in the room and hears the door close behind her. She took a good look at her lover in the hospital bed and tears started welling up in her eyes. The sight of seeing her being hooked up to machines was unpleasant. She sat beside her and grabbed her hand lightly gripping it.

"There's so much I want to say, but it doesn't matter right now. The only thing that matters is that you're still alive and I'm grateful that they found you in time. I don't know what I would do with myself if you were gone. So please, Toni keep fighting, keep fighting for me and I'll do the same. I love you." She whispered leaning down to kiss her hand.

She gets up to leave but she hears a raspy voice. 

"Cheryl."

She turns around quickly spinning in her toe.

"Toni!" She says in surprise and smiles sadly.

She presses the button and waits for the nurses and doctors to rush in and check up on her vitals. She sees them come in and she walks out of the room and back to the reception.

"Is she okay?"

"She's fine, in fact she just woke up."

"That's great!"

She looked at the ground uncomfortable all of a sudden.

"What's the matter?"

"Nothing it's just— what if this happens again? I can't stand this."

"You can leave if you want to. You're getting married soon, I'm sure you guys were going to retire from the Serpents sooner or later. We're always here for you."

"That means a lot after this, I want to."

"Then it's settled."

She smiled, it was great that she left but she was going to miss all of them. But it was something she was willing to sacrifice, as long as it kept her fiancé alive.
