Peter stared at the ceiling, drumming his fingers against his bed as the other hand gripped his phone. He let out a frustrated sigh, deleting yet another message draft and shoving the device under his pillow in hopes that he would just forget about it.
Peter stood from his bed and retrieved his Spiderman mask, staring into the eye lenses for a brief moment before pulling it over his face. He sat down in his office chair as the suit's features powered up, displaying themselves in his vision.
"Hey, Karen, what's up?" He asked, waiting for the loyal suit lady to respond.
"Hello, Peter, how was your Spanish quiz?" She asked immediately.
"Listen, I was wondering if you could help me," Peter spun around, kicking his feet up on his desk, "I'm trying to figure out who the guys on the bridge were that night but I can only remember part of the license plate."
"I can run facial recognition on the footage of that encounter," Karen said, automatically scrolling through the footage database.
"Footage?" Peter asked's his eyebrows pinching in confusion.
"Yes Peter, I record everything you see."
"Everything?"
"Everything."
"The whole time?"
"It's called the Baby Monitor Protocol."
Peter threw his hands in the air in exasperation, "Yeah, of course it is. Um... yeah, just roll it back to the party."
"With pleasure," She responded, pulling up the first recorded clip of that day.
"Hey what's up everybody? Kickass party! What's up, Liz, Peter's told me a lot about you," Peter's own voice said. He watched himself practice introductions in the mirror before waving his hands, trying to pause it. "No, no, no, this is just me messing around, fast forward to, uh, later in the day."
Karen obeyed, fast-forwarding to the next clip. It was a video of Peter, once again, in front of the mirror, a large wooden hammer in one hand. "It is I, Thor, son of Odin!" He said, trying to imitate Thor's British accent. "No, no, no, that's not- that's definitely not what we want," Peter attempted to cover his eyes even though he was seeing everything through the mask, "God, if Theo heard that, I'd never me hear the end of it."
"From what you've told me about him, I'm sure he would have found your impressions very funny," She commented.
Peter frowned slightly, trying not to let his mind wander to the blonde too much. "Just... fast-forward to the arms deal."
Karen did as she was told, replaying the footage in question. Peter analyzed the three men standing in front of the white van, including a little snippet of Phantom darting forward to hide in front of the van. "Okay, the two on the right, who are they?" He asked, referring to the sellers.
