*~*Miki's POV*~*
Monday morning and Deidara, Sasori, Tobi and I were already making our way to school. Monday was my least favorite day of the week. I loved Fridays since we only went half a day.
"I don't freaking want to go!" Deidara broke the peacefully silence between us. "I like being home schooled a lot better." He pouted.
"It's pretty cool here with us. Since it's a kinder through eighth grade school, we get partnered up with one person from every grade and we do all these fun activities with them, plus there's no school the whole day." I smiled. I liked events like these because we get the opportunity to make new friends.
"Are we doing that today?" Sasori asked. Lunae had texted me earlier today telling me all that happened yesterday. A goofy grin had replaced my simple smile just imagining what happened.
"Nope, next week we are." I nodded.
"Miki!" A familiar voice shouted for me.
I turned around and Kiba, my third best friend was running up to me. We had met in grade school before I'd met Lunae and Lupin.
"Hey K-" Before I could even finish my sentence, Kiba had already engulfed me in one of his bear hugs.
"I missed you!" Kiba had gone to visit family far away a week before winter vacations even started. "But I'm back, and I'm here to stay!" He stood in a super man pose before resuming back his playful self.
"I missed you too, Kiba." I smiled.
"Are you done with your little love fest? The school bell is going to ring in a ten minutes." Deidara said coldly.
"Fine then, lets race there! Last one there has to buy lunch for everyone!" I shouted. Kiba wolf-whistled for Akamaru, who arrived quickly. I got on first, and Kiba got on the back.
We raced past Deidara, Sasori and Tobi. I held on for dear life. The cute little puppy I knew three years ago was gone, and it was replaced with a huge masculine dog.
When we got there, Dei, Saso, and Tobi were no where to be found. I smirked. Dei was good at making snappy remarks about what I did, but when I do that to him, he just ticked.
"Miki!" I turned around and Lunae and Lupin ran up to me. "Come on, the late bell is going to ring in a few." And it did ring, Tobi, Sasori, and Deidara were already late.
At lunch, I sat with Lunae, Lupin, and Kiba.
"Isn't it odd none of your brothers arrived today?" Lupin pointed out.
"Yeah, we walked with them today to school before we decided to race to school." Kiba took a sip of his juice.
"Yeah, I guess it is a bit weird." I paused. "I mean, even last night when we were getting ready for bed, they started acting all strange." I commented. "What about you Lunae, you've been awfully quiet since we got here." I smirked. I wanted to change the subject to something that wasn't noticeable.
"Yeah, what happened last night between you and Saso?" Lupin played on with me.
Lunae's face had already started to heat up and her face changed from pale pink, to hot pink and then to a blazing red.
"I...um, I don't know...well...yeah..." She stuttered.
"Somebody already had their first kiss haven't they?" I coaxed.
Lunae didn't respond and I felt a sense of accomplishment. The lunch bell rang, signaling for us to get to class. We left a red Lunae in the cafeteria.
During class, I felt myself wondering why they hadn't come. Did they get lost? Are they hurt?
"Miki!" My teacher called my attention. "What did I just say?"
"That when you multiply two negative numbers, they are always positive." When I spaced out I didn't really ignore the voices of the outside world.
The teacher gave me a dirty look and continued on with the lesson.
The bell rang and everyone filed out of the school campus. Lupin had a doctors appointment and Lunae was family over so they couldn't walk home with me. I strolled down the streets taking my own time. My cell phone started playing my ring tone.
It was a text from an unknown number.
'I can see you.'
I replied, but it was the one of the worst things to have probably done.
'What? Who is this?'
'You are getting closer to me.'
I stopped in place.
'No you can't, there's no one around.'
'Yes there is.'
'Leave me alone weirdo.' I closed my phone and continued walking. I vibrated again and I was tempted to open it.
'Turn around if you don't believe me.'
I did, but all I saw was black since a bag had been put over my head and I was being beaten with some weapon. I prayed that I would get out fine, but deep down, I knew my life was going to change drastically.
