*~* Miki's POV*~*
I awoke with a horrible headache. Every single inch of me ached. I managed open one eye. Bruises, cuts, and scratches were all over me. My vision was still a little blurry, but I could see the shades of blue, purple, red, and flesh color all over me
A tall, black haired man walked in. I couldn't make out his face, but he sounded so...familiar.
"You'll be fine." My god! I remembered exactly who he was.
"Tobi!?" I yelped, before I realized it hurt to speak.
"Hm? You remembered, you aren't supposed to." He covered my eyes with his hands, and I fell asleep.
*~*Tobi's POV*~*
I walked into Miki's room to just see her one more time. I felt awful for having lied to her over the past few days. If she would've known who we actually were, she wouldn't have gone with us.
I opened the door and surprisingly, she was awake. It felt awful seeing her so vulnerable like this. Hidan definitely tried to kill her alright.
I knelt down next to her and stroked her hair. "You'll be fine." I whispered into her ear.
"Tobi!?" She croaked, but stopped abruptly. She fumbled to get up but I stopped her.
"Hm? You remembered? You aren't supposed to." I placed my hands over her eyes and she immediately fell asleep. She was exhausted and looked so fragile.
I walked out of the empty room in the base. We were located in the middle of the forest where no one could find us.
Several hours later, I found myself back in Miki's room. She was still sleeping peacefully. I had cleaned out her wounds earlier to make sure they wouldn't get infected. If Pain found out about that I was doing this, he'd have my head, but not really in a way since I'm the actually leader.
Her eyes fluttered opened and she smiled slowly.
"Hey there. Care to explain why I'm here?" She raised an eyebrow. She was definitely doing a lot better.
"Why you're here or the whole thing?" I held my legs up to my chest.
"How about why you're dressed like that, then why I'm here, and the entire story later on."
"Why I'm dressed like this sort of has to do with the whole story." I mumbled, touching my cloak.
"Them tell me why I'm here first then." Miki stared at the ceiling.
"Well, let's start off with I'm not fifteen, I'm twenty." I caught a glimpse of her and she looked a bit hurt. "Dei and Sasori are both eighteen." I bit my lip. "And you are here because Pain made a contract with your mother when you were born." I paused again to look at her. Her eyes were closed. "She had gotten into some trouble with us, and she said she would have her first child join us when they were older, and here you are."
*~*Miki's POV*~*
My own mother sold me just to save herself? What a selfish witch! I tried to contain my tears but it hurt too much.
I sighed a bit too loudly and let the tears flow down.
"What is this then?" My voice came out all shaky.
"All of your adopted siblings are part of the Akatsuki, a group of bandits." He paused. "Your not alone, yours friends are also in this mess, including another girl we caught. Hidan is supposed to have brought them in last night."
"What am I supposed to do here." I pulled myself up. I ignored the pain, it hurt more that my mother had sold me for her liberty.
"I'll already told you that you are going to have to join, and I guess I'm in charge of teaching you how to fend for yourself."
"Can I ask you one more question?"
"I'm always open." Tobi said.
"What's with the get up?" I smiled. "You look funny in it. And why are you wearing that mask?"
Tobi smiled. "Don't make fun of it, you're going t o be wearing one very soon anyway. The mask, I would've worn it while I was in you place, but I would've been called a freak, so I couldn't really risk it."
"Oh," I mumbled. "Are my friends here yet?" I mumbled
"Yeah, they're in the next room. They are in critical condition, are you sure you want to see them?"
"Yeah." I pulled myself of the ground. And walked with Tobi to the next door over.
Tobi was right, they were in a horrible condition. "Hidan really doesn't know how to kidnap people." I mumbled. "Who's the chick over there?" I pointed to a girl with light brown hair.
"Oh yeah. When Lupin's, Lunae's and your mom's got in trouble with us, they brought in an innocent women, who gave up her child just like you and your friends."
I leaned on the door frame and sighed. "The why'd you get me first?"
"You were alone, no sign of civilization, hello?" Tobi waved his hand in front of my face. "That's the easiest target! Lunae was the hardest since there was people watching over her every second of the day. Lupin, was so-so. You were by far the easiest!" Tobi slung his arm over my shoulder.
"You're mean." I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Don't be like that," Tobi playfully punched me. "You know I love you!"
"What?" I asked more confused than angry.
"Um...I mean as friends!" Tobi laughed nervously.
"You are weird!" I laughed and playfully punched him back. "But you're cool that way. Wait, I got another question, who was Ms. Faye then?"
Tobi thought for a moment. "Oh yeah, Sasori made her do that. Gotta love him."
"I guess it's best to leave them alone." I pointed to my friends. "They must be exhausted."
"You're right. Here, let me show you around the base." Tobi took hold of my hand and dragged down hallways. "This is Hidan's room. That one is Konan's. This one is Pain's, That's Zetsu's." He pointed out almost everyone's room. "And this one is mine." He opened the room to reveal a Black and Orange colored room.
He had a room with two orange walls, and two black ones. His bed had a black comforter and a black frame. The closet door was on a black wall and the door had been painted orange.
"Pretty creative, no?" I asked him.
"You like?"
"No," I said and he frowned. "I love."
He smiled and pulled me into a hug.
"Miki, can I tell you something, and do you promise to keep it a secret?" Tobi held out his pinkie.
"Of course." I intertwined my pinkie with his.
"Come closer." I leaned in. "Closer." I leaned in more. "Closer." I leaned in until there was only a small distance in between us. "Can't you get the hint? Just kiss me already!" Tobi closed up the space between us, his lips crashing onto mine.
I must have looked like a plum, I felt the blood rushing to my head when we pulled apart.
"You should get some sleep kid." Tobi winked at me before leaving me dumbfounded in his room.
