Things in Alice's life didn't get any easier. Betty had set her mind on enlightening the unexplained mysterious death of the former Riverdale High principal Mr. Featherhead. Alice was impressed by how quickly her youngest daughter linked the role play G & G to the murder case. Alice had so hoped for, after she had honestly revealed Betty all her memories and perspective of the tragic death, that her daughter would give in and distance herself from the resurrected menace. But the opposite occurred. Betty got suspicious, cornering her mother at the sane time. It was embarrassing to see how Betty lured all members of the original Midnight Club to a meeting in La Bonne Nuit to confront the parents with a murderer being among them. That Betty was right in the end, Alice couldn't guess at this time.

That same afternoon, Alice had received a message from Polly that was frightening her. Edgar had chosen Polly to take her into his inner circle of confidants and make her his wife. It was bound by a so-called baptism, whose ritual, Alice had already revealed, cost some lives. She had to act, fast. She decided, in close consultation with Charles, to stand in Polly's place and win Edgar's trust to direct his attention from Polly. It was high time to act. She would have to visit the farm for a few weeks and Betty would be left behind in Riverdale. Thus, the need had arisen that made it impossible for Alice to continue to keep the current secrets in her life completely from FP. So she decided, cleared with Charles, to reveal a small part of the truth to FP. She explained him that she wanted to explore the awkward behavior of the farm in order to free Polly and her grandchildren from the clutches of the sect. FP was worried about Alices safety however he gave her the promise to keep an eye on Betty during her absence while researching on the farm.

Alice hadn't expected the surprising visit of the Gargoyle King at her house the same evening. A few moments changed into unbearable infinite angst. When the Gargoyle King appeared in the dark of the living room, majestic like a giant tree, in front of her and her daughter she already thought that the end is near. The rescuing exits were inaccessible so Alice and Betty instinctively fled to the upper floor. But the next surprise was waiting in the room of her youngest daughter. A disfigured tombstone made the event even more threatening.

When FP suddenly stood in front of her after climbing a ladder and through the window, holding her reassuringly in his arms, Alice felt safe for a short period of time. She was in a difficult situation. How was she supposed to protect her two daughters while both of them were in great danger at the same time? On the one hand, Polly needed her help because the situation around the sect disguised as a farm and the behavior of the leader Edgar Evernever became more and more dangerous. On the other hand there was an old known murderer on the loose who turned Alices life drastically in the past teenage years once completely upside down. She knew Betty wouldn't stop investigating Featherhead's murder case. That wasn't in her nature. But the developments within the farm took far too dangerous forms. The only way to keep Betty away from any potentially dangerous source of danger while Alice helped Polly and the twins was to send Betty to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. Even against her will. The tears, the disappointment in Betty's eyes when Alice let her youngest daughter be dragged out of the house will accompany Alice forever. She knew she had lost Betty's trust. She would have been happy to inaugurate Betty but her curiosity and desire for offensive justice would be out of place regarding the farms case and it would be a high risk the years-long undercover mission could blow up and kill Polly, the grandchildren and many other people.
