"Please walk in." She offered a hand and I took a deep breath, stepping in the huge building. The concrete under me was rumbling - oh, wait. It was just me.

"Thanks for the hospitality, but i'm good." I managed to offer a smile and she returned me one.

"Please don't be afraid to ask for directions, have a good day." Her thick British accent made my mind brew and I headed to my locker. I twisted the combination and shoved a couple of books inside, slamming it close,  I head to my classroom. I was 15 minutes late, but the teacher in charge was informed of my abscense so I decided to take a short tour of my new school. I peeked around the corner and spotted a few students that are a few grades lower. They seemed friendly enough - though there were couples everywhere, against lockers, by the water fountain, entrance of the building.. My heart clenched from the sight of people passionately gazing over each other. I've never been one to go out on dates or have boyfriends. I just didn't have the time, my sick father was enough for me. He is my priority and always will be.

I made my way to the huge canteen which buzzed with chatter - a porky odour was emited. I scrunched my nose and walked out. The school was complete with a gym, mini forest, huge canteen, and - thankfully, libraries.

I knocked softly on the door and opened it, revealing a bright classroom filled with murmurs of students and the teacher looking back from writing on the board.

"Ah, Rosalie Thorne? Glad you could join us for today. I'm Mr Zack. Before you head to your seat, please give us a small introduction." He smiled. I bit down on my lip and looked down. I was afraid this would happen. Just do it Rose, no harm done.

I tucked a strand of brown hair behind my ear and cleared my throat. "I'm Rose," I spoke up clear enough for everyone to hear. "I just moved to Flakerwood about a week ago, I enjoy cool breezes and i read a lot. I stay indoors more often but i like the outdoors as well." I glanced around the room and all eyes were on me, I just noticed as I was looking down at my feet the whole time.

"Thank you, welcome to Barington High. I'm your physics teacher, take a seat next to William, please." I thanked him and head to my seat, eyes were still on me and a couple of low mumbles were heard.

I placed my bag down and let out a sigh as I took a seat, I feel emotionally exhausted already. The boy, whom I assumed was William, kept a hard eye on me through the corners of his eyes. I slumped down my chair and decided to gaze up on him from the corner of my eye. He had a body of an athlete.

"Can I help you?" He pulled out the pencil he was chewing earlier and I cocked my head slowly to the right. His eyes were possessive, but his tone was soft.

"Huh?"

"What?"

"Who?"

"You. Can I help you?"  He was gesturing his hand as if I couldn't hear him.

"OH!" I sat up abruptly and brushed the ends of my sweater as if It had dirt all over it. I had a tendancy of doing so, to prevent awkward approaches. Nice going, Rose.

"I'm William, Nice to meet y-"

"The two in the back, zip it" Mr Zack glared at the two of us, making me look down and forcing a smile at William as a sign to say we'd continue the conversation in another time.

The class went by slowly as it only consists of loud mishaps and annoyance. William's light button up shirt would brush my bare thighs from time to time, and I'd flinch. Luckily he didn't notice, but he did got a little creeped out. I dropped my pencil in the middle of class, shrieked, and when I did pick it up, knocked my head under the table. He gave me a half smile where half his teeth would show - raked his hair and turn back to his work. Again, way to go Rose!
