Jackson drove into his neighborhood with a huge smile on his face. He felt good, he felt great. His date with Monica was amazing. He even wished he could relive the night over again. But sadly coming to reality was a bummer.

Turning the corner, he noticed a car he hadn't seen in months. Cayla's. Not only that- Jinyoung was supposed to be watching Carlie yet his car wasn't even parked outside his house like it had been when Jackson left.

"What?" Jackson whispered to himself. Pulling into his driveway he only saw lights on downstairs. While exiting his car he pulled out his phone to contact Jinyoung. Just to get the scoop on what the actual hell was going on here.

"Hello?"

Jinyoung spoke into the phone first. Assuming that Jackson had just got home from his date and now was calling to talk about it with him.

"Where the fuck are you, Jinyoung?" Jackson cursed, walking down his pathway in a speed walk.

"What are you talking about?" Jinyoung genuinely seemed confused.

"Why is Cayla here and why are you not?" Jackson jeered, fiddling with his keys as he hurried to unlock his front door.

"Cayla told me that you said she was supposed to come over later and watch Carlie. Is that not true?"

Jackson sighed loudly at Jinyoung's question. Going silent once he opened his door. "I'll call you back, Jinyoung."

He shoved his phone into back pocket. Narrowing his eyes at his empty kitchen where the only light was on. Jackson shut the door behind him and cautiously walked further into his home.

The silence making his heart beat pick up just a bit. He called out for Cayla and Carlie, hoping to just get an answer back from anyone.

"Shh, she's sleeping." Jackson jumped at the sound of Cayla's voice. She turned on the living room light while walking to the kitchen.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Jackson sighed and placed his keys onto his kitchen island. He leaned onto it while Cayla sat on a bar stool.

"I came to see my daughter." The intruder shrugged.

"And you didn't think to call me?" Jackson narrowed his eyes.

"I was but Jinyoung said you were out on a date, so I just told him that I was supposed to be here so that he wouldn't get suspicious. I wouldn't have guessed when you asked for Monica's name that it was for romantic reasons." Cayla teased.

Jackson scoffed and slid onto the bar stool across from Cayla's. "I asked you for her name so I could just know. But we've become familiar with each other. Anyway, how's the baby?"

Jackson and Cayla continued to converse about their personal lives. They hadn't had a conversation like this since- well- forever.

"It was nice talking to you, Jackson." Cayla smiled. Jackson opened the door for her with a nod.

"I agree. Just do me a favor and never break into my house ever again." Cayla snorted. "I promise."

Before Cayla got into her car, she shouted.

"Good luck with Monica. And don't break her heart asshole."

FIN.

AUTHOR'S THOUGHT
BUBBLE

initially i was going to make
cayla a villian but then i noticed how
many separated parent plots have
that character. so, cayla will be jackson's
romance right hand man. sorry i haven't
updated in like two weeks :(((. i just
started school on the 3rd and i'm trying
to do my best this year. i promise school
crush will be finished by winter break though.
