Chapter 4

~Zoie's POV~
"Okay, so, Lav is currently sleeping in her crib. When she wakes up give her a-"
"A warm bottle. Gabs, I've got this. I watch her every day. This is what a nanny is for." I told her. Gabbie and Jack we're going on vacation and leaving Lavender for the first time.
"Maybe I should just go check on her one last time." She said, looking at Jack.
"No. Gabbie- she is fine. Zoie's got this. And besides we can always come home if she needs us." He reminded her. And with that, they said goodbye to us and left.
"Oh my gosh. I never thought they'd leave." I sighed as Daniel and I sat down.
"I know. It's insane." He chuckled, intertwining his fingers with mine.
"The house is so quiet."
"Well with everyone gone for thanksgiving it better be."
"Are you sure you don't wanna go home for thanksgiving?"
"I am, doofus."
"I mean a couple days early."
"I'm not gonna leave you here alone with Lavender. Besides, Gabbie and Jack will be back tomorrow night." He reminded me as I snuggled up to him. Later that night, Daniel, Lavender, and I went to the grocery store.
"What should we make for dinner?" Dani asked.
"I dunno- what do you want?"
"Steak." He laughed.
"Okay, let's get some steak then." I chuckled.

"She finally go down?" Daniel asked as I sat down beside him after putting Lavender to bed.
"Yeah. She was a fighter but oh well." I shrugged.
"What do you wanna watch?"
"I don't really have a preference." I shrugged as the doorbell rang. "Who's that?" I asked.
"I'm not sure. I'll get it." He replied. So he went and opened the door.
"Hi! Sorry to bother you but I just moved in next door so I wanted to come say hi and meet my new neighbors!" I heard someone say from the door. She had a really thick southern accent. I got up off the couch and walked to the door.
"Hi, I'm Zoie." I smiled at her as I held my hand out for her to shake.
"I'm Anna Grace." She smiled back. "Is it just you two here?"
"Oh nah we have four other guys, one other girl, and a baby." Dani explained.
"Oh wow! How old is your baby?"
"Oh no she's not ours, she's our friends Gabbie and Jack's. You live by yourself?"
"Yep." She nodded. Then, Lavender started crying.
"Excuse me." I smiled as I headed to get Lavender. After a while, Daniel came up.
"She was nice." He said.
"Yeah." I shrugged. "Will you hold her for a second?" I asked as I handed her to him. I had been fighting with her for fifteen minutes now. She was usually very quick to go to sleep.
"What're you doing?" Daniel asked as I took my shirt off.
"She misses Gabbie. She needs skin to skin contact." I explained. So I took her inside off her and laid her on my chest as I laid down in my bed.
"I'm gonna head to bed." He told me as he kissed my head.
"You're not sleeping in here?" I questioned.
"You want me to?"
"Well duh." I chuckled. So he put on a pair of sleeping shorts and got in bed with me. Lavender was already asleep by now. I slowly got up and put her in her crib before going and laying back down with Daniel.
"Goodnight." He said as he kissed my head.
