You know how you're weirded out by a person, especially if they do something out of the ordinary?

You know how you keep coming back even if they're weird because something about them is just so intriguing?

Well that's me.

After the little meeting back in the deserted hallway, you'd think I'd do my best to practically not be in the same room with her, refusing to breathe the same air she does and denying knowledge of her existence, even wishing I never knew her, or lived so close to her.

That may seem like the most obvious response to something very confusing and dizzying, yet for some reason I chose to keep a close eye on Tammi.

Since not many people were aware of how we were related, I decided to observe her discreetly, watching her quietly and wondering about Sarah, or if there were any more surprises I should look out for.

Sometimes she'd catch my eye and raise her brow as if to ask what I was up to. My usual answer was to mimic her action and see who'd back down first from the staring match. She was usually the first one, breaking the contact and rolling her eyes at the ridiculousness of it all.

Honestly, maybe I would too, because the whole thing was spontaneous and unplanned yet I told myself to regard her for any similar incidents that might happen.

Weirdly enough, I don't want any of her changes to happen when I'm not there. I know that's too much but I consider myself as the first person to see something like that out of her, and it's kind of special because I'm the only one that experienced that whirlwind of emotions at a short span of time.

Wouldn't you wanna keep something like that, too?

No?

Okay moving on.

As of right now I was in front of their house, my feet just inches before I really tresspassed their territory.

Gotta keep a respectful distance at all times.

Now what was I doing?

In all honesty, I don't know.

Yes, sorry for disappointing.

But I guess I was waiting. Waiting for what exactly? I couldn't identify it myself either, but I was just there, maybe expecting something to happen.

While waiting my gaze travelled to my shoes, and I had a fleeting thought about replacing it since it was almost falling apart. Funny how at first I was so attached to it.

A click of the door jarred me out of my thoughts, and for a second I thought it was one of the parents or the siblings but I was relieved when I saw just who I was waiting for.

"Hey Tammi!" I called out, and her eyes flitted to me for a moment before continuing to put on her shoes.

Wow, that's cold.

"What are you doing here, Ross?"

She reached her front gate and opened it as I crossed my arms and tapped my foot impatiently.

"We have unfinished business, Tammi," I started, and she did an eyeroll before sidestepping me and walking away, as if I wasn't even there.

Well I wasn't about to let her go without some sort of explanation.

I hurried so I could be next to her.

"Let's start off with what happened the last time we saw each other," I said again, but she quickened her pace.

All I did was follow her. It was easy since my legs were longer than hers.

"What do we have to talk about if I can't even explain what happened to me?" she asked irritably, pulling the scrungie from her wrist and messily tying her hair. "Even I don't know what came over me so can you please just give it a rest and leave me alone?" At this she spun on her heel, facing me with knitted brows. I halted to observe every detail of her scowl. The brows, the way her glasses were askew, the full frown on her face, and the stance her body took up.

We were silent for a moment, staring each other down and hoping one would break the eye contact. We've been doing this for a long time now, if you've noticed. I guess it was our way to intimidate the other.

Like always, I didn't back down. Why would I?

It seemed she got the hint since her gaze softened and she sighed again, rubbing her temple and turning back to her original direction.

She walked away, again, without even so much as an acknowledgement.

I was about to call after her when she stopped and asked over her shoulder, "You coming or what? Better make it snappy if you want to see something."

A trace of a smile graced those thin lips, but before I could make sure it wasn't an illusion, I was greeted with the sight of her back, slowly going farther away from me.

I shut my mouth and took a step, my footfalls growing louder as I half-ran to keep up with the idiot.

"Wait up Tammi!"

"You're such a slowpoke," she said in reply as I finally was able to walk by her side, my chest heaving to gulp in air.

I gave her a cold look which she merely brushed off.

This girl is infuriating.

Wait... did she just tease me?
