Sorry I've bn MIA guyss didn't know how to get this story rolling properlyy

Hours later, I woke up in the middle of the night, all groggy and clammy as cold sweat fell down my temples. My heart was going on overdrive I could feel my rapid pulse on my wrist and the side of my neck.

What woke me up?

I looked around wildly, trying to see through the eternal darkness. It was too silent. But I know something shrill and ear-piercing interrupted the otherwise tranquil night. Why else would I suddenly wake without a reason?

What the heck was that?

The bed sheets rustled as I removed the blankets from me, my hands grabbing around for my phone, trying to seek some solace in something familiar.

I yelped as I fell out of bed unceremoniously, the room too dark even as I was awake for already a few minutes. My head and hands hurt since they were the first ones that hit the floor, but I scurried up to my feet and continued to look for my phone.

Cursing the fact that I was taking too long, I flipped open the lights, which was admittedly a stupid move on my part since I was blinded by the sudden appearance of brightness.

"What the heck..." I muttered as I finally found my phone on the floor.

I quickly bent over to hold it, the time blinking back at me. It was three o' four in the morning. It was too early and late at the same time.

My heart couldn't calm down though. My gut was churning unpleasantly, like I had eaten something rotten. It was like warning me of something bad happening.

But I couldn't understand why I was so nervous and scared.

Breathing heavily through my nostrils, I made a beeline toward my window, pushing them aside so the fresh air could hit me. It was cold, and it stung my cheeks and nostrils. My eyes squinted through the darkness, trying to pinpoint the exact location of where that scream came from. I couldn't calm down. Not in the slightest bit.

My hands were trembling even as they gripped the cool bars of my window. I wouldn't be surprised if my pupils were blown wide right now since I couldn't think nor see clearly. I was shaking so bad I thought my legs would give out on me.

Everything was serene, in order, and untouched. Streetlamps served their purpose as they gave light to the streets. A breeze was passing by softly, ruffling the trees and their leaves. Countless tiny stars littered the sky, twinkling and just staying there in their spot, no matter how long the distance.

I swallowed, not knowing if this was every bit real or just false tranquility.

When I deemed that enough was enough, I prepared to close the windows and try to get some shut eye but then I heard yelling which made me whip my head toward the sound.

It was coming from the Sanchez household.

"Don't touch me!"

"Get back here, little girl!"

"I won't have it anymore; I'm leaving!"

"Pull her hair Harold let's get this over with!"

My heart lurched in my throat and in seconds I was climbing down the stairs and unlocking all the doors to get outside.
