This one's a looong one guys and I edited it a lil
Years later find us in our late teens. Specifically, we were both nineteen. Yup, funny how time literally flies over your head.
It was a too bright Sunday afternoon. It was summer and it was hot yet I quenched my boredom by going outside and doing nothing. Until I saw my neighbor.
I was walking quietly with my hands shoved in my own trousers, following Tammi stealthily and trying to keep the sound of my feet to a minimum, the distance between us constant as she walked.
Today she was wearing a gray hoodie and loose joggers, her hair stylized into a bob cut which made her look youthful.
I'm actually concerned about her personalities. I don't know if it's a good thing, but they've somehow multiplied over the last three years and I'm getting worried. For example, I've met a sage old woman who particularly loves candy. I also encountered a rich young man who can't be bothered to clean and a taciturn boy who likes butterflies. I can't really say I enjoyed everyone's company since I also met a bratty girl and a boy whose nose always seemed to run. Really, no matter how many tissues I hand him the next second he'll be wiping snot all over the place.
And it's still kind of hard for me to wrap my head around the simple - but baffling - fact that I met all those people through Tammi herself. I don't know if she's aware but she gives subtle hints she knows what happens to her. Although I am kind of worried since the changes come randomly that I can't keep up most of the time.
I wish I knew how to help her, but I've never opened up to anyone about the situation, not even Tammi herself as I was afraid she'd shut me out.
Yet she spun around with an annoyed look on her face, glasses falling off the bridge of her nose slightly.
"Would you mind?" she shot at me.
Well this was a new person. Tammi would never snap at me like that, no matter how annoyed she was.
Instead of sprinting away like I had initially planned, I grinned and skipped to be by her side, which she found incredibly irritating, judging by the unpleasant scrunch of her nose.
My gosh, she is so fun to tease.
"So, who are you and where are you headed?" I asked conversationally, like we were close friends.
Personally, I wouldn't call us close. Like, we were neighbors and we knew each other from school but that was about it.
Oh sure I knew about the interesting fact that she had the ability to switch personalities as fast as the weather changed but aside from that, I didn't know her in a deeper level.
I had no idea what her favorite hobbies were, or if she liked cinnamon. Those kinds of things that make people friends.
The girl in front of me scowled and pushed me away by the shoulder, causing me to stumble a little.
"Don't follow me like the creep you are," she reprimanded me as she quickened her pace.
I had the mind to heed her warning and turn a complete three sixty. I was also childish and stubborn, so I gave into my younger self and followed her like the brat I am.
No, I wouldn't consider myself a creep. That was way off the bar, and this person - whoever they were - should have the mind to apologize for calling me such a thing.
But then she just stopped walking, which made my brows crease and my concern swell.
Before anything could happen, she fell to the ground and that was the last straw for me to run to her and check for any damages, heart in my throat.
