Back at the classroom Aidon and I briefed the rest of the group on the plan. Thomas was insistent on escaping separate from us but once he realized that his baseball buddy wasn't taking any chances he agreed to work with the rest of the group.
Aidon continued "Building 2 is the only building with the least pale faces that is closest to the parking lot. Building one would have been Ideal but I think thats a hot trap."
"Hot trap?" Zoe asked
"What he means is people have tried escaping by going trough building one but for what ever reason they are caught and turned." I explained
"We will exit the building quietly, stay down-wind of the infected, jump in my hummer, and get the hell out of doge" Aidon finish.
There was a loud crash and the door to the classroom we are in shudder violently creaking and bulging inward.
"Is everyone seeing this?" Thomas voice cracked with fear and uncertainty
"Yep time to go" Aidon announced as he Gavin and Logan begin stacking desks precariously on top of each other so we can get into the roof and start moving. The girls and I went first heading up the group the guys being the heaviest stayed behind us.
"Jesus christ" I hear Aidon shout out
"What going on?" I called back slowing my pace.
"Nothing keep moving"
After about five minutes I told the group to stop. With the tools provided I start sawing away at the roof. I have to do this quickly or else the roof could cave under our combine weight. After what seems like hours I am finally able to get a hole through the roof but...
"What's the holdup?" Aidon asked from the back of the line
"It's too high for me to jump down" I replied.
The girls chorused me twos and I hear Logan curse then some shuffling before he passed me to jump down the hole. I sent the group ahead of me trying to get a grip on my acrophobia.
"I will go down first then help you down ok" he winked teasingly
I blushed.
"Hey what about me?" Cali complained eyeing me with disdain.
"I'll help you down too." Aidon rolled his eyes then dropped down the hole.
Cali seethed at me "Stop flirting with Aidon he is mine" She shoved me backwards pushing me several inches away from the hole the roof creaked from the weight.
A distinct smell tickled my nose making me look back down the way we came. Slowly steadily a figure made its way toward me. My heart dropped. How did they get up here?
I moved quickly to jump out the hole but something tugged me back. My skirt waist band is hooked on something jagged no amount of tugging or pulling would set it free.
"Khione?" I hear Aidon calling me from below
"Help! I'm stuck" The urgency in my voice noticeable even to me
"Whats wrong?" Aidon Asks sticking his head through the hole.
"I'm stuck and one of them is crawling its way toward me."
"Your joking" Aidon asked in disbelief
"Really" I moved out of the way so Aidon could catch a glimpse of the boy slithering down the air duct.
"Logan! I need a boost Quick."
Suddenly Aidon's nose is in my face, surveying the situation he begins tugging on my skirt waist band.
