"Geoff you don't understand! I'm so fucking nervous for this dumb prom! I've never danced with Liam before so what happens if I step on her feet? Or if I step over my own feet? What if-" I said. I was in Geoff's house as the two of us were getting ready for the dance.
"Shut the fuck up, Awsten! You're going to be fine! You don't see me worrying about Otto! You're going to be okay! She likes you and you like her and you can dance which is more important than anything right now!" Geoff said as he ran a comb through his hair. He stared at me then grabbed my shoulders.
"If you're like this for prom than what are you gonna be like when you and her get married?" He said and I looked him dead in the eye. "She's not even my girlfriend?" Geoff tilted his head.
"Are You 100% sure? The shit you guys do together...they way she looks at you during lunch. You know that she's in love with you...right?" He said. I shook my head. "She isn't."
Or is she? We've shared so many secrets with each other....I know who she actually is. I've kissed her, I've seen what's underneath her shirt. And I know that I'm in love with her...but is she in love with me?
"You Just thought of everything you two have done together, didn't you?" I gave Geoff a small nod as an answer. "I'm in love with her." I spoke very quietly. Geoff smiled. "I know. And she's in love with you. Now come on, get in your suit." I got up out of my existential crisis chair and took my suit off of the hanger by Geoff's wardrobe.
I began to change into my suit, taking occasional looks into the mirror just to make sure I was doing it right. When I got to my tie, my hands begin to tremble. Just like when we went on our first date. My anxiety was turbulent.
Geoff noticed and grabbed my tie. He tied it for me and I focused on my breathing. Deep breath in, deep breath out. No need to freak out, Awsten. Everything's going to be okay. You'll be okay.
"Hey Awsten, we gotta go pick them up." Geoff said. I nodded then took another deep breath. The two of us left the house and into my car.
You'll be okay Awsten. You'll be okay.

She walked up and down, her heart racing. Her converse squeaked against the wood floor with every step she took. "I...this...i can't go out like this!" She shouted, stopping on one spot. She looked at her uncovered arms, then back at her black dress.
"They're gonna Look at me. I look like a freak." She in and she sat on the floor. Otto looked at her, just a little bit confused. "Well, I think you look beautiful. And that's why they're gonna look at you. Because you. Look. Amazing." Otto said, a smile on his face.
She smiled back at him. "Thank you Otto." She said. "Yeah, Otto's right. Now get together so I can take a photo." Gerard smiled. Liam got up and stood next to Otto.
"No. On the floor." He said and she giggled. She and Otto sat down on the floor and she leaned her head against his shoulder. Gerard took a few photos then they heard a knock on the door. Liam looked at Otto and he smiled widely.
"You're gonna be okay."

I knocked on her door, her corsage in my hand, in a nice, clear box. I couldn't help it, but I was shaking. Geoff looked at me and smiled. "Hey Awsten! We were just taking pictures!" Gerard smiled and let us in. I looked at the floor and walked inside the warm house.
Liam and Otto sat on the floor, smiling at each other. She looked absolutely beautiful. Her makeup was done and her arms weren't covered. Her scars, every one of them, could be seen. I know she was afraid to show them. But she did it. And it made me smile.
