Juniper Indigo has lived a sad life. Her mother died five years ago from her tragic brain tumor. Juniper lost not only her mom but the person who was there for her from the beginning. Living in a house of parents, older sisters, a twin brother, a yo...
"Am I dead? I mean I was a vampire, but I'm confused," I ask.
"Yes, dear. This is the beginning of your eternal life," she responds stroking my hair and looking into my eyes.
"I'm scared. I wasn't ready. Mom, what do I do?" I ask.
"Baby, you know what to do," she smiles.
I blink, and she's gone. Like a flash of lightning, she disappears. I look at the two diamonds in my hands.
"Mom!" I scream.
I look around as I realize I'm on a firm mattress with a sheet and dirty pillow. The walls are concrete and the floor is dirt on top of the tile.
I see the six-foot bars. My claustrophobia kicks in as I shudder. The only thing in front of my eyes is another wall with a window placed with glass and more strong sturdy bars.
I run fast at the bars as I tumble backwards.
"Pretty girl, look at me," a man's voice says. He has dark black hair and red eyes. Somehow they're memorizing, even a pretty red. It's not as scary as I thought. I always thought red eyes would make me scream. They're like rubies.
I look at his face as he smiles. He's definitely attractive. He's not as boyish as Draven appears. I find Draven cuter. He must've been older when he was turned.
"What... do you want... from me," I gulp.
"Oh darling, he didn't tell you. You're powerful dear and beautiful. You'd make a good wife," he says.
"No!" I growl as my face turns red with anger. I feel my body explode with heat. A flaming ball of fire. My skin is black like ashes. I feel my body decay as I crumble to the ground. I carry my ashes out of the bars. I built the ashes back up as a person.
I run for my life through the bars. Ashes carry everywhere as I make the wind push all of the back. I can feel sparks form as a huge burst of water falls on me. Ashes become wet as I feel pain. Somehow, I'm a puddle of black. I can see my reflection though. I'm nothing, but I see a sad, beautiful girl. I sink into the ground as I travel different ways. It feels so weird. Rain can't feel, but I feel what rain would if it were alive.
The little tunnels of water collect into a small puddle in a bunch of ore and stone. I start to evaporate into this cave. I'm air as I feel so wonderful. I feel free. I can travel anywhere.
I travel and cling onto the ceiling. I feel the stalactites and ores above. I cling to a particular ore. I feel iron ore melt down with me as I feel the heavy liquid metal. I built back up into a person as I feel the wet diamond fall down. I build the diamonds into clothing, hair, and eyes. I look into the water to see a statue of iron and diamonds. How can this be real?
I turn into air and travel up through the ground. I see the forest outside of where I was captured.
I hear a voice as I hide as a rusty broken metal sword.
"The problem is she ran west. Our hope is she runs back east and gets caught. We're trying to trap her. We'll send a few people up ahead farther west then her, so she comes running east. There's no way she's going south into the mountains. Those mountains are filled with crazy elder vampires," he says.
"Too bad she made it difficult by melting the tracker on her wrist," the other man says.
"Wait! I have a signal of iron!" he shouts.
I panic as I get rid of the iron ore. I transform into a small diamond in the dirt. The other diamonds travel with the iron ore.
"Just a glitch," he confirms as they walk away.
I feel the parasites attracted by this dead animal near me. I feel this disgusting pest swallow me. A tiny diamond sucked up by icky wriggling worms. I realize a bigger animal is coming. I see a young bear cub come over and eat the parasite I'm in.
I burst out of the parasite as I'm in the bear cub. I'm a parasite as I don't eat the sad bear. I travel through a bunch of weird meat. I would know what everything is, but this is too up close and personal. I look through the eyes as I realize it's coming up to a tree. It falls backward and takes a moment to do its business.
I fall out into the pile of gross mush. I feel like how I'd imagine a slug would feel.
I sit there for a while before a heard of deer come and eat the berries out of the waste. I go through the fat pregnant deer as I realize I'm clinging on to the baby deer. Apparently, it's coming out. I cling onto the deer as I realize I'm now blood. It feels weird being blood. Iron was thicker and nice, but blood is a whole weird thing to be. It's just falling out as I realize I'm connected to the deer. I feel the hide, fat, bone, and muscles as I'm blood. I focus on all of these.
I start to build up as a baby as I grow a year each few seconds. It's weird seeing this happen as I look into the water. I see a sixteen-year-old girl in a minute. Unfortunately, I have no clothes on.
I make a clothing out of the hide. I thread it in to make a linen cloth, shorts, and a bra.
I pull my hair up and wrap my hair in a high ponytail. I few straw strands curl around my face.
I run drift with the wind fast towards the mountain.
I make it to a small cave in the mountain. Nothing seems to live here, so I make my way into the lonely black and gray stone cave. I look around as I know this is my new home. I don't hide very often, but I know what I have to do.
I shiver even though I'm a vampire. I pinch my skin; nothing hurts. I'm breathing, however, I feel the beautiful air going in and out. My chest pounds as I shiver in the wet water.
I start crying as I hear a voice.
"Poor girl. Are you a material vamp?" she asks.
I see a pair of diamond white eyes, brunette hair, and no halo and wings.
Only she has fangs, and she's not my mom.
