I kept hearing the dings on and off.
"I'm coming!"
I yelled. I immediately regretted it. I rarely talk let alone yelled. I set the trays up to Julia.
"Finally"
She exasperated. Work was way harder then I thought but my mom has been gone at least a year and all my dad does is drink no time to pay for anything for me. I would rather work for it anyway. I looked at the clock 5:00 my que to leave. I took off my kitchen cloths. I put on some dark wash skinny jeans and a light red sweat shirt that was my brothers. He gave it to me before he moved. It was huge on me but kept me warm on the streets. I grabbed my bag after I took my hair out of my bun and into a side pony tail. I had light brown hair with natural blonde highlights it was so blended you couldn't decide if I was a brunette or a blonde. I had hazel eyes if I took my glasses of you could spot them a mile away but my big black bulgy glasses hid them well I didn't really need them but they hid my face well so no one would look at me. I was still wearing my converse. I realized I almost forgot my camera. I walked and put my bag over my shoulder. I started down the street looking in my camera. I got a picture of four Soc.'s in a non drunk state hitting on a Soc. girl. There red corvette was parked on the sidewalks and they were leaning against a wall away from the car checking out every girl that walked by, one of them moved his sunglasses down for a better look I got others whooping and whistling. I smiled at the picture I think it fit well for what normal was around her in the 60's. Since my dad gave up on life I lived on the greaser side of town. I took pictures of all the things I could possibly find artistic. I saw a boy with a brand new red bicycle stopped in the middle of the road. He was waiting for his friend to catch up but he was looking down the road. I snapped a picture and I swear it looked like a thanksgiving card. I kept walking and I passed that house again I always noticed. I heard the faint laughs through the screen door again. I saw a broad shoulder man with side burns and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt doing a stupid dance and everyone clapping him on and laughing having a good time. They were probably the only hoods in the town that weren't really hoods just raised that way so they dressed that way and acted that way when they needed to. I walked into the front door of my house. There was only one reason I still wore my glasses at home. The only time my dad beat me was when he saw my eyes. They were exactly as my mothers and he blames me for her death which we both don't really know what happened. I made sure he saw my glasses. He was drunk again. He just sent me to my room. I took out the photos I had taken and placed them in the back of another one of my books I had already filled 11 books and I was on number 12. I set it back on the self next to the others that were already completed. I smiled at myself I was glad tomorrow was Friday one more day left before I could hide in my room the whole weekend away from as much human life possible. I slipped into my pajamas and laid down. I looked out the window across the room. The sun was just setting but I would have nothing better to do but sleep so that was what I was doing. I got up and walked over to the window. I grabbed my camera and got down on my knees. From where I lived you can see all the way down to other side of town. I snapped a couple of pictures feeling the light fall breeze on my skin. Once the sun had set I went over to my bed. All my homework was done finished in school like always never had anything better to do. Once I woke up I knew my dad was gone left early for work and probably still drowsy from being drunk. I hopped in the shower letting the warm water clean my skin. My skin was tan I guess you could say I was skinny but only because I rarely ate because I really had nothing to eat. Once I was done I french braided my hair out of my face I put on some light blue skinny jeans that were a little ripped. I shoved a navy blue sweater on to match. I grabbed my red converse as I started for the door. I always made sure I had my bag, my camera, and my glasses and I was off.
