Behind The Camera // The Outsiders

~Chapter 2~

Of course I'm not allowed to have my camera in class so I set it in my locker. My first class was English with Mrs. Jane her real name was Audrey Jane I actually really liked that name Audrey it was cute. I sat in the back like always next to the boy with the long black hair and tan skin. I swear I had never seen his eyes he was shy like me and was always looking down.

"Ok class I want you to look around. Do you see your classmates what one have you talked to before or never met. Your best friend might be in this class or someone you never talked to might be in here. So for this I want to build my class so you all know each other. I know you kids and I know who hasn't talked to who and who always talk to each other. I'm going to pair you guys up and by Monday I want you guys to do a presentation about the other one"

I was barely listening and know one said anything so I assumed they didn't listen to !rs. Jane's speech either. She started listing of the partners.

"I want Demetria and james together and Janice with Danny............"

I stopped listening just waiting for my name then I heard it.

"Ashlyn and Johnny"

I looked up and saw every ones faces they all read who is Ashlyn and Johnny. I looked around for who Johnny might be then I turned to the boy beside me. He was the only one who wasn't sitting with a partner yet. The shy boy I always sat with in class was my partner. We shoved are desks together like everyone. Else but with no words while everyone else just blabbed away.

"Uh.........Hi"

He said. I glanced at him.

"Hi"

I said.

"I'm Johnny, Johnny Cade"

He said holding his hand out.

"Ashlyn"

I said shaking it.

"Do you want to work on the project tonight?"

He asked. I sat there quiet.

"Uh sure......... here's my number you can either call or I will be at Julie's Diner till 5:00 after school"

I said and holy crap I ripped that one out of me I might add. He nodded.

"Ok I will call you because I will be with my buddies we can meet up if you don't meet them well you probably will never no anything about me"

He said. I nodded him then gave him my number. I wrote down all the information and after 5:30 because I would be home by then. I was saved by the bell though so I didn't have to say anything else. The rest of the day was boring like usual until I got to the diner.

"What do you mean were short handed?"

I said to Julia.

"I'm sorry but can you just wait tables for tonight please"

She begged.

"Uh fine you owe me big time for this"

I said putting my hair up in a bun. Julia was the only person I can talk to she used to be best friends with my mom and all I had left. I worked at her diner so I probably would never get fired. Once my hair was up and I had my satchel wrapped around my waist I grabbed a pen and paper and started for the tables. How would I do this? I questioned myself. I noticed something as I walked out the doors the house I always passed on my way home the boys I always saw there were sitting at one of the tables. Dallas was checking me out and I hate my self for knowing who he is but he is one of the biggest hoods in town. I walked over to there table to see Johnny was apart of there gang to. I probably never noticed him because he was so quiet.

"How m-may I help you?"

I stuttered out. Dallas was the first to answer.

"Were just here for a drink you can bring us a 7 Pepsi's"

He said. I wrote it down and nodded and walked off. Well that wasn't that bad I thought to myself. Once the Pepsi were done I walked them over to the table I set down one in front of each of the 7 boys.

"Seven Pepsi's, do you guys want anything else?"

I asked before walking away.

"No-"

Someone started but Dallas cut him off.

"Yes a tall glass of you"

He stated I rolled my eyes and walked off he sure as heck was what everyone said he was.
