~Chapter 6~

I went to my new room for now and changed into some comfortable shorts and a baggy t shirt. I crawled into bed and stared at the ceiling. How could these people I just met care for me so much? I questioned myself. Who would even waste there time for me? I asked myself. I was still wearing my glasses once Johnny gave them back to me. I wasn't going to take them off now I was hurt. Johnny came in and checked on me.
"Are you okay?"
He asked.
"Uh yah"
I answered he smiled.
"It's so cute when you don't know how to answer"
I smiled then fixed my glasses. His smile went to a frown.
"If I just remembered to give you your glasses you would of been safe"
He said as he sat at the foot of the bed.
"Johnny it's fine I didn't even realize I would of remember and I let you keep them it's okay besides if this didn't happen I wouldn't be here with you guys right now"
I said ripping every word out of me but it didn't hurt as much I was opening up a little bit more. He nodded.
"I'm just glad your safe"
He said as he headed for the door.
"Wait.........Johnny can you stay with me?"
I stuttered out scooting over. He smiled. Then nodded he walked over and took his jean jacket off. Once he was under the covers I wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Thank you"
I said he smiled.
"Your welcome"
He said before we both drifted off into a deep sleep. I don't really know what I felt about Johnny but I was scared I was at a new place with new people and what would happen if my dad woke up? What would he do? Johnny has protected me ever since I have met him now and I trust him so I just needed him to stay in my arms so I know I will be fine all night long. I woke up to the smell of something sweet I untangled myself from Johnny and walked out into the kitchen. I was still wearing one of Soda's plaid shirts it was really big on me I hadn't eaten in days since last night I had to of lost a lot of weight. The shirt at least reached my knees so I didn't bother to put pants on.
"Morning Darry"
I said once I saw him in the kitchen.
"Hey Ashy did you sleep well?"
He asked. Ashy? I kinda liked it.
"Yes"
I answered.
"I saw Johnny stayed with you"
He said. I blushed.
"I was just nervous my dad was going to come back so I asked him to stay with me"
I said ripping every word out of me because this was possibly going to be the longest conversation I have ever had.
"Well I called the cops last night they found your dad still passed out, I hope you don't mind but I worked some things out and I'm your new guardian so you can stay here with your friend Julia and so you don't have to transfer schools"
He said. How the hell could he say all that without being nervous?
"Really!"
I said through a giant smile. He smiled then nodded. I ran over to him and I gave him a giant hug. I don't know where it was coming from but I suddenly wasn't nervous about anything I did. He laughed.
"You know your just like the sister I always wanted"
He said. I smiled.
"I haven't known any of you guys for long but you and the other guys are my family now and we need to celebrate"
I said. He gave me another smile.
"How about this the boys love to go out dancing what do you think?"
He said. I giggled.
"Uh sure but I um never really went out dancing before"
I said. He chuckled.
"The way greasers dance you will probably be the best one there"
I smiled and I was ready for this new step into new life.
