The Danish royal family are mourning the loss of Queen Margrethe's husband, Prince Henrik, who sadly passed away on Tuesday night. The palace confirmed the news in a statement, saying that Henrik died "peacefully in his sleep" at 11.18pm at Fredensborg Castle, north of Copenhagen. The queen and her three sons, Crown Prince Christian, Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim, were by his side.

Where is Princess Regina from?
Regina Rene King was born on January 15, 1971, in Los Angeles and grew up in View Park-Windsor Hills. She is the eldest daughter of Gloria (Cain), a special education teacher, and Thomas King, an electrician. King's parents divorced in 1979. King's younger sister is former actress Reina King, who appeared on What's Happening Now!! King attended Westchester High School; graduating in 1988 and later attended the University of Southern California.
Where did Regina work before becoming a princess?
After graduating from the University of Southern California, Regina worked as a television director for NBC and CBS. She moved to Denmark permanently when her relationship with Christian became serious. Regina was employed by TNT (originally an abbreviation for Turner Network Television) before officially becoming a royal.
How did Princess Regina and Prince Christian meet?
Regina met her future husband Prince Christian at a charity event. She explained that she was unaware of who the prince was when they first met, as he simply introduced himself as "Chris" at the event. "The first time we met we shook hands," Regina recalled.
