Gerard stared at the key in his palm, the one from the locker hunt fiasco. A small tear rolled down his cheek and pain seared in his chest at just the predicament that he was in right now. He was oh, so utterly fucked in the ass.

And not in a good way.

So, Frank knew. Frank knew now that Gerard had a crush on him, his best friend since, oh, I don't know, 5th grade? But, also, there was a problem with the sweet, cheesy, caring mystery note guy. That is, if it even was a guy.

Ge had to find him, too, and he was sure that once he found the person, he would like them, too. And in that moment, Gerard Way had never felt as much like a whore as he did then.-----When Gerard walked into school the next morning, he was not expecting the first thing he saw, to be Frank fucking Iero, his crush, standing in front of Gee's locker.

He kept his head down, blushing madly.

"Gee?" Frank's soothing voice brought Gee out of his shamed daze, and he became acutely aware of just how hot Frank looked with his hands in his pockets, leaning against the cool metal door.

"Good morning, Frank," Gerard tried to sound nonchalant, only cringing at how he sounded.

"Do you want me to help you finish the puzzle?" Frank asked.

"W-what?" Gee wasn't sure he had heard Frank correctly. It was almost like nothing had happened.

Frank held his hand out toward the other boy, waiting for the redhead to take it. As soon as Gee's hand met Frank's, the shorter boy pulled the other forward, down the hallway, startling him.

"Frankie, where are we going?"

Frank wasn't going to acknowledge that there were butterflies in his stomach from holding Gerard's hand; Not even when the name "Frankie" sounded so good coming from Gee's mouth.

"I know who has the lock," Frank answered simply, leading Gerard down a desolate hallway by the music room.

A sinking feeling made itself known in the taller boy's stomach. So, that's what this was all about. Frank was taking Gee to find somebody else... he should have known Frankie would never like him back.

Swiftly, the two were swept into the bathroom, Frank letting go of Gee's hand.

"W-why the heck-"

Frank put his hand down the front of his collared shirt and pulled out a small chain necklace... with a lock pendant hanging from the end.

"Oh."

Frank bit his lip nervously and stared down at Gerard, grabbing his necklace as well.

"May I?" He smiled shyly.

Gerard just stood there, stunned, as Frank took the key and slipped it into the hole in the lock, twisting it until it made a soft clicking sound. The lock opened and the two sides of it split from the middle, revealing a small piece of paper.

Frank looked up at Gerard expectantly, but his hands were firmly clutched against his chest, his eyes still staring down at the locket.

"Gee?" Frank questioned, making Gee's gaze snap up. Their faces nearly matched in color, red-tinted, Gerard's being a bit more noticeable because of his pale complexion.

"Frankie?"

The same feeling hit Frank again before he smiled softly and muttered, "Uh... t-the paper's for you..."

Gerard reached into the locket, his shaky fingers gripping the paper and pulling it out. When he unfolded it, there was a messy scribbling that read, "Will you be the Juliet to my Romeo?"

Gee scrunched up his nose in a giggle, covering his mouth as he laughed, "Aww, Frankieeee!"

Frank scratched the back of his neck and looked down at his feet.

"Of course I will, Frankie!" Gee nearly squealed, throwing himself onto Frank and wrapping his arms comfortingly around the shorter boy.
