After having everything explained to him, Frost was sent home to pack the necessary essentials. He packed his clothes, toiletries, some bedding, his laptop as well as his cello. Erica helped Frost pack and she was like a concerned mother who's son was going off to college, making sure he packed everything. Once they were done packing, Rita took Frost to his new home with the Krugers.
Mr and Mrs Kruger, Cassie and even Jane were there to help Frost move into the his new home. Mr and Mrs Kruger were surprised by small amount of essentials Frost brought with him, but Cassie and Jane were interested in what was in the case, so they were whispering to each other about what was in it.
The Krugers lived in a decent sized two story house. Frost's new bedroom was on the second story, between Cassie's and David's bedrooms. Davidson, or David for short, is Cassie's younger five year old brother. Frost haven't met him yet because David is at one of his friend's birthday party.
After ensuring Mrs Kruger that his new bedroom was perfect and getting Jane and Cassie out of it, Frost could finally start unpacking. He accidentally "forgot" some of his bags, with the unnecessary stuff, at his old house. He can always go pick it up some other time when he needs it. For now, what he have is more than enough for him.
Frost sighed tiredly as he laid down on his new bed. The mattress was still stiff, meaning it wasn't used very much. This is going to be a brand new chapter of his life. He still can't believe that all his friends from STF was frozen with him, but he still can't understand why they had to wait until now to make contact with him again. It confuses him, but that doesn't really matter that much. What matters now is resting and getting ready for the life as a normal teenager. It's gonna be a big change to get used, but he will survive.
Frost woke up suddenly from a knock on the door. He slowly stood up and walked to the door to open it. In the doorway stood Cassie.
"Hey." Cassie greeted.
"Hey. What can I help you with?" Frost greeted her back.
"It's time for dinner." Cassie answered.
"Was I out that long?" Frost asked.
"Yeah. We wanted to introduce you to David when he arrived, but you were out cold." Cassie explained.
"Sorry." Frost apologized.
"It's no problem. Just be downstairs in five minutes." Cassie said.
"I can go right now." Frost said.
"Oh okay. Let's go then." Cassie said, not expecting Frost to be ready to go.
Frost started to head downstairs with Cassie before noticing someone on the bottom of the stairs staring up at them before quickly dashing into the kitchen. Frost assumed that was David.
"Oh. That was David. He can be shy at times but once he gets to know you, then he will be more social. Just be prepared for a lot of questions." Cassie gave Frost the heads up."No worries. I understand. I was at that stage too in my life before." Frost replied with a smile.
After dinner, Frost headed back upstairs with Cassie. David was still a bit shy, but he did say a few things to him. Frost headed to his bedroom and closed the door only to have Cassie knocking on it.
"Hey, Cassie. What can I help you with?" Frost asked as he opened the door.
"May I come in?" Cassie asked hopefully.
"Sure." Frost replied after checking that there was nothing inappropriate laying around.
Cassie came into Frost's bedroom happily and sat down on his bed before looking at Frost as he closed the door.
"So what can I help you with?" Frost repeated his question.
"Oh. I just wanted to spend some personal time with my new brother." Cassie replied.
"Oh okay. I guess that makes sense." Frost replied as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck.
"What's in the case? A guitar?" Cassie asked with interest.
"In this case?" Frost asked as he picked up his cello case.
Cassie nodded and Frost shook his head with a smile.
"No, it's not a guitar. Its a cello." Frost said.
"A cello? You mean like that big violin instrument?" Cassie asked.
"That's actually a pretty accurate way of describing it." Frost said with a smile.
"Can you play it?" Cassie asked.
"Of course I can." Frost replied.
"Can you play me a song?" Cassie asked with sparks in her eyes.
"Sure." Frost replied as he set down the case on the bed next to Cassie.
Frost opened the case, before slowly taking out his cello and cello bow. Cassie's eyes widened as she watched with interest. Frost pulled the chair closer before sitting down. He started to tune the cello while Cassie grew all the more excited. Frost took a deep breath before starting to play "Perfect" (by Ed Sheeran). Cassie was awe-struck, not expecting Frost to play it so good. The music had attract other ears as well, Mrs Kruger with a sleepy David in her arms was standing behind the closed door while listening to it. Frost played Hallelujah next and lastly "Despacito" (by Luis Rodríguez). After Frost was done playing, Cassie cheered happily as Mrs Kruger took David to bed.
"That was amazing!" Cassie cheered happily.
"Thank you. I couldn't play the songs perfectly, because I need someone to play another cello as well." Frost replied as grew a bit quiet while packing away his instrument.
"Who do you usually play with?" Cassie asked.
"My mother." Frost replied as he looked down sadly.
"I- I'm sorry. I didn't know." Cassie apologized before hugging Frost supportively.
"It's fine." Frost said as he hugged back while sniffing.
