Gravida - Para Term-Preterm-Abortion-Living
ginagamit ito para malaman ang OB history ng isang nanay.
G - ilang beses ka ng nabuntis? / pang ilang pagbubuntis mo na ito?
P - ilang beses ka ng nanganak?
T - Nanganak ng 37-41 weeks or 38-42 weeks sa ibang libro
P - Nanganak after 20 weeks but before 37 weeks
A - Inilabas ang bata before the age of viability / Before 20 weeks
L - Ilan ang buhay na anak?
DETERMINING GRAVIDITY AND PARITY
Gravidity - refers to the total number of pregnancies, past and present, irrespective of the outcome. (bilang ng pagbubuntis)
Gravida - is a woman who is pregnant now or has been pregnant
Nulligravida - is a woman who is not pregnant now or has never been pregnant
Primigravida - first pregnancy
Multigravida - 2 or more pregnancies
Grand multigravida - 6 or more pregnancies
Parity or para- refers to the total number of pregnancies in which the fetus has reached the age of viability whether dead or alive at birth (bilang ng panganganak within age of viability, whether dead or alive)
Nullipara - is a woman who has not carried a pregnancy beyond 20 weeks or beyond the period of abortion.
Primipara - is a woman who has completed one pregnancy to age of viability and subsequently delivered the fetus, whether alive or dead at birth
Multipara - is a woman who has carried 2 or more pregnancies to stage of viability and subsequently born alive or dead.
Grand multipara - is a woman who has had 6 or more viable deliveries, whether, the fetuses were alive or dead.
PRINCIPLES IN IDENTIFYING PARITY
A. The number of pregnancies is counted and not the number of fetuses. Multiple pregnancies do not increase parity.
Example:
•Twins or triplets would only be considered as one delivery thus, one parity.
•Zandra is pregnant for the first time and is carrying twins. She is presently G1P0. At 37-38 weeks, Zandra delivered to monozygotic twins making her G1P1.
B. Abortion is not included in parity count because in abortion the fetus is delivered before the age of viability (before 20 weeks).
Example:
•Angelica is pregnant for the second time. Her first pregnancy three years ago ended in an abortion. Angelica is presently G2P0. After delivery of a preterm or a fullterm baby, Angelica will be designated G2P1. What if Angelica's pregnancy ends in abortion at 12 weeks? Then Angelica will remain to be G2P0.
C. Live birth or stillbirth is counted in parity count.
Example:
•Zanica is pregnant for the first time (G1P0). After 34 weeks, she delivered a 4-lb. baby boy with no signs of life (stillbirth). This makes Zanica a primipara (G1P1).
