Ch. 23 Washington Monument

~Y/n pov~

Peter jumped up, presumably bored out of his mind.  

I ignored him until I hear Karen say something that shocked me.

"That glowy thing is an explosive energy bomb." Karen stated.

"Wait Ned's been carrying a bomb." Peter yelled.

This caught my attention, "You gave Ned the alien thing, which turns out to be a bomb?!"

"In my defence.." Peter started, "I didn't know it was a bomb."

I smacked him in the back of the head,  "Idiot!"

"Ow.." He moaned as I ignored him.

"We need to get out if here.." I trailed off, "And quick!"

Peter jumped up to the door banging and yelling for help.

I deadpanned, "Yeah... That's not going to work." I told him, "We need to find another way out."

Peter to the side, "We need to overcharge the time vault," him and Karen started punching in codes.

After putting in lots of codes the door finally opened.

"Whoo!" Peter fist pumped the air as the door cranked opened.

"No time to celebrate!" I told him as we ran out gracefully landing on top of a truck and sneaking out of the facility.

Peter rang Ned but he didn't answer, "Ned call me back!" he yelled frantically.

"We need to get to the Washington monument as soon as possible Karen!" I yelled to Karen.

We jumped from vehicle to vehicle trying to get there faster.

Suddenly Peter got a call from Ned, "Ned! I'm so glad your okay!"

"Peter are you okay?" I heard Ned respond.

"Ned you need to get rid of the glowing thing!" Peter yelled.

"Don't worry it's in my back pack!" Ned was calm as he didn't know the danger.

"No Ned it's dangerous!" Peter yelled.

Ned started rambling on, when I heard another voice talking.

"Oh hey Liz!" Peter said happily.

I clenched my jaw, feeling my heart drop.

I ignored Peter as he talked to Liz.

We jumped off the bus and ran towards the Washington monument as Peter continued rambling on the phone.

Ned hung up as Peter yelled his name," Dammit!"

Petee flung our bags at a tree and webbed them to it as we neared the monument.

Me and Peter saw the top of the building crumble, as Peter frantically yelled at Karen.

I saw MJ out of the corner of my eyes, she stood up quickly and pointed," My friends are up there!"

My eyes widened in shock.

"What?!" Peter yelled, "Uh... Don't worry everything's going to be okay!"

Peter ran off and MJ faced me, "Be careful.. Y/n." she made sure no one could hear us.

"It's okay, I will." I turned to run but MJ grabbed my wrist.

"When everything is over we need to talk, Me, You, Peter and Ned." MJ told me.

I nodded and sped off after Peter boosting myself up with my fire.

I landed next to Peter near the top of the building.

"What now?!" I asked panicked, truth be told, I was terrified of heights.
