We are both a mess (an Ed Sheeran fanfiction)

Chapter 21

-Mum and dad called me because they want to meet you…they miss you. I’ve told them what happened to you…I hope you don’t mind…

-Fine. I don’t want meet them. End of the conversation. The good one now please.

 -At least do it for me…mum is worried about you and misses you…

-I’ve said end of the conversation John. I don’t want to talk about it right now.

-The good one is that...you gonna be auntie. Jade is pregnant. And it is a baby girl. Oh and we are going to move on here.

I almost chocked with the rice I was eating. Jade and John had been together since 4-5 years. She was a photographer and one of the sweetest girls I had ever met. The perfect sister-in-law, although they weren’t married.

-Oh my God…that’s amazing!!!!! But when? How? Why?

-You know, when two people love each other they use to fuc-

-I already know that, John, thank you but sadly I am not interested in your sexual relationship. –I punched him on his shoulder and then smiled.

-Believe it or not, she is on her 6th month and you are the first member of the family who knows it. But...what are you gonna do finally with mum and dad???

-I don’t know…it has been more than a year since we don’t talk…and I know that you love and appreciate mum for what she did for you, she took care of you and I understand it, but it’s not the same for me. And I don’t want to start an argument with them again…

It was a long silence in which we keep eating, I guess he understood me and he knew I was a stubborn person. The fact that my brother was going to live in the same city as I did it was one of the best things someone could tell me.

That night I called Ed via Skype. I loved when he told me all the stuff he had done in that day and his plans for the next days, it helped me to forget about the reality I was living in. He made me laugh almost all the time, it was what I needed. We had been talking about an hour when he asked me about my day:

-How has been your day?

-Hmm…I’ve hanged out with John and he told me that my parents want to meet me again and that his girlfriend is pregnant. But being honest I am not in the mood to talk about my parents.

-It’s okay babe, we can talk about some other things. In about less than a month I will be there and I just can’t wait. Prepare yourself for when I am there, because you won’t leave bed in about 3 days.

And that’s how a conversation that was meant to take an hour, takes 4. The best thing was Ed laughing all the time and  tweeting about our jokes and the fans trying to understand them.

The last month before I saw Ed, was pretty busy, I helped my brother John with his new home since Jade couldn’t take the heavy things. His home was in the same neighbourhood as mine. Just 5 minutes walking away. I hanged out a few days with Jade to help her with some of the baby’s stuff. She was funny, sweet, like an angel. And she gave me the point of view that my brother couldn’t gave me.

-We want to celebrate a mini party because our new house, would you come? We would like to celebrate it at the end of this month…of course, Ed is invited.

-Yeah, sure!! I think it is an amazing idea! – I said that without thinking what meant to go to that party.
