The three powerful words struck my heart as I surfaced from the water and made my way to the dock. He smiled unlike ever before as his words hung in the air between us. I stepped up onto the dock. I plopped down beside him as my dress drip dried. Leaves still fell from the trees and landed gracefully on top of the glistening water. I breathed in, taking in every single second of this moment.
"I mean it." He said. "I mean every single word of it. I love you." He finished.
I looked over at him. His eyes always appealed to me. They were the golden shimmer of a lions coat. I always found myself staring into them.
"I love you too." I swallowed.
"Really?" he asked in a shocked manner. "I thought you would think I was foolish for falling in love with you so quickly." He laughed.
"No. I don't mind at all." I smiled. "Its rather nice to know someone loves me like you. Especially after just meeting me."
"I feel like I didn't just meet you." He said sternly. "I feel like ive known you forever. I hope it will always be that way. Me and you."
I nodded. I didn't know how to respond. I quickly got up and brushed off my long dress.
"So what now? Here in the game its morning. At home its time to go to sleep." I asked.
"Yea I know its confusing. I don't know what we are gonna do. We can do whatever you want to. Unless you want me to show you a few things." He smiled really big and held out his hand as he started to stand up. I held his hand.
"Ill take that as a yes." He stammered as he looked at our hands, perfectly intwined.
We walked off the dock and into the gigantic closet. We passed the gun room once again. We walked out onto the porch. I breathed in through my nose and exhaled strongly. The fall air felt great. My long wavy hair blew behind my shoulders. His armor clinged as he held onto my hand tighter. I looked up to him. I swear he is going to be my whole life someday. I can feel it. His smile took me away. Its like he knew exactly what to do to sweep me off my feet and make me fall for him hard.
We stepped off of the porch and started walking through the pasture again. In the distance, you could see the cliff that we jumped off of earlier. When we both died. This game is extraordinary. Alittle ways away to the side of the spot where we jumped off, there is a small bridge. Across the bridge is a vast thick jungle. Ofcourse, that is where we are heading for sure. We slowly approach the bridge. It sways as small breezes blow, and as air from the waterfall rises.
We don't say a word the whole time. We just hold hands. He helps me take the first step onto it. I steady my balance. I let go of his hand so I can hold both sides of the bridge. He slowly walks behind me. I know if I fall, he would catch me. After all, if I did fall off this bridge,I would only die. But not for real.
Some boards in the bridge are gone. Some are rotting away slowly. Some look so pitiful that im afraid to put a foot on them. The fear of my leg falling through makes my hair stand on end.
We finally make it across. I didn't look back the whole time. We step off onto the moist jungle ground. Immediantly the climate changed. It went from nice and cool to humid and sticky. My hair begins to stick to my neck. I look around. Mosquitos hover around. One lands upon my arm. I watch it as it injects its needle nose into my skin. I didn't actually feel it at all. Then, I saw the blood begin to pool into the clear stomach of the mosquito. Chris interrupted my concentration by slapping my arm. Blood smeared and the mosquito was nothing. Its body parts were on my skin.
Chris laughed hard.
"What?" I asked mockingly.
"Nothing mother nature!" he laughed harder. "It just amazes me that your amazed by a mosquito sucking your blood."
"Well after all I am mother nature, you crazy knight." I joked.
He just smiled. We started walking along a trail that was obviously cut and made for a purpose. Where will this lead? We walk for what seems like forever. No words were exchanged. Just small loving, romantic glances. I saw a small light in the distance as we approached it.
"Here we are!" he said smiling from ear to ear like the joker.
Then I saw it. A beautiful log tree house sitting among a huge jungle tree. Lanterns hung by the gigantic door. A small ladder led to the top.
"Welcome to mother nature and the knight's house!" he said smiling as love showed in his eyes. He grabbed my hand and began to lead me to our home. OUR HOME.
