I wake up to the sound of Chris in the kitchen. Its actually morning now like it is in the real world. I look over to my left, where Chris was last night. I smile. We only cuddled and kissed but it was incredible. It shows how our love was defined within one day.
I stretch, the smile still not leaving my face. Then, my eyes go wide. I look around for a clock. Above the closet door is one. Its 10:47. School. We are missing school. THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL.
I jump up and run to the closet. I don't even bother to close the door. I look at the clothes on my side of the closet. I grab the brown boots that come to my knees and some skinny jeggings. I also grab a red flannel. Then, i throw on a brown scarf. Simple but cute, casual outfit.I walk down the hall and into the kitchen. He stands there sipping coffee. Hes fresh out the shower. His hair drips down his neck. He looks drowsy. Did he even get sleep?
I stand in the door way and wait for him to notice me. I clear my throat. He looks up.
"Oh goodmorning sweetheart." he said smiling. The smile wasnt the normal smile. it seems like he forced his lips to rise just a small bit.
"Goodmorning." i said yawning.
"Sleep good?" he questioned.
"Yes. Better than i ever have." i said smiling so big, i just couldnt bear it. Then my smile turned to shock as i realized that we are still missing school and it is almost 11:00. "We are missing school." i finished sternly.
He put down his coffee and yawned. The fact didnt seem to bother him.
"Yea? What about it?" he asked. He seemed relaxed. Way more than usual. Way to relaxed to be chris. I mean, hes naturally laid back but really? Surely not this much. Especially sense we are missing school. The second day of school.
"First hour of school is already passed. What if the kids came and snuck around our house and saw i was with you while we were asleep?" i asked as i started to worry more.
"They didnt." he said with no affection or seriousness in his voice. It was a flat monotone.
"How do you know for sure?" i asked raising an eyebrow.
"Because i have this tree house locked from other brains besides ours." he said smiling, his voice starting to turn back to normal.
"Well isnt that special." i finished under my breath.
Silence filled the room. Its so deafening.
"So do we just jump off a cliff again? Because we have got to get to school. In the real world ive been sitting on my bed all night. i didnt take a shower. I bet my mom has tried shaking me and screaming in my ear." i said as i started to worry more and more.
"i didnt think about all that. You think to much." he said laughing and starting to walk into the bedroom.
"Im serious chris." i said.
"Dang, chill out. We arent going to school, or atleast im not." he said shrugging.
"Oh okay. Will that be okay?" i asked biting my fingernails.
"Yea, its only the second day of school. they just give you more class speeches." he said chuckling. "Its hot in here. you shouldnt have turned off the ac last night." he said as he opened the bedroom closet.
"yea sorry i forgot to turn it back on and-" i stopped as i choked on my own words.
Chris's pants are on the floor. Hes only in his boxers. He reaches down to the bottom hem of his shirt and pulls it over his head. Which causes his wet hair to spike up. His tan skin seems to glow and his toned abbs show pretty clearly. Hes so strong.
My eyes must have been as big as saucers and my jaw must be dropped.
He begins to laugh.
i stop staring. I didnt realize i had stood there for so long. I simply turned around and walked out of the bedroom, leaving Chris in his most handsome state.
I walk into the bathroom and start to brush my teeth. After i brush them, i wipe my mouth off on a hand towel. I turn off the bathroom light. I walk into the living room. I plop down onto the love seat. I lay across it, propping my feet up on the arm of the couch and my head on the other. I grab the tv remote and turn it on. As i clik the power button, Chris walks in. Hes smiling as ususal.
I just glance at him, but yet i observe what he wears in an instant.
Hes wearing his usual dark jeans, along with his sperry's. His brown hair is spiked with jell. Hes wearing a green hollister shirt. His toned biceps press against his shirt. His skin glows with a golden shine to it. His eyes shine to, his beautiful wise eyes.
I turn my attention back to the television. This isnt normal. I squint at the tv. Curiously. Kids from my school are on tv. Carrying guns and they are all dressed up, walking in a pasture.
My eyes go wide.
"Chris?" i say, not breaking my bond from the tv.
"Yea?" he asks, coming to sit by me. I move my legs to where they should normally be, in front of me.
"Look." i said pointing at the screen.
"What is it?" he asked looking at me and then the tv. "Whats goi-" he cuts himself off.
Silence feels the room. Once again, it is deafening.
"How is this possible?" he asked to himself as he leans closer to the tv. "It cant be."
"What? What cant be possible? Chris whats going on?" i questioned as i began to shake. His tension is scaring me. If he is scared, dont i have a right to be?
"This." he said touching the tv screen. "This cant be possible." he added, repeating himself again.
"Come on Chris. Tell me. Please." i said grabbing his arm.
"They found us." he said, never taking his eyes off the tv. "They are coming for us."
